Learn to Play Call of Cthulhu!
Call of Cthulhu | One-Shot
About the adventure
It's the early 1920's and, for one reason or another, you have been brought together to investigate some strange going's-on at an old house that the current owner thinks might be haunted. The previous tenants became sick after a bit while living at the house, and the owner is concerned that his investment is for naught. Will you play as the skeptical private investigator looking to disprove the supernatural, or the book researcher and author, looking for ideas for a new novel, or maybe the professor and his favorite grad student, wondering about the veracity of those things locked within the Vault at Miskatonic University... It's your job to find out what's going on and either stop it or expose it for the hoax it is. I mean...it *does* pay well...VERY well...
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How to prepare
All you really need is a mic for our voicechat via Discord, and a free Roll20 account (I have a Pro account for lighting and such). As stated beforehand, pregenerated characters will be provided!
What I provide
What I Bring to The Table (both literally and figuratively!) -An professional, fair, and (most of all) fun experience, from an experienced and professional DM -Beautiful and professional maps complete with dynamic lighting and ambient music when appropriate -An exciting narrative story where you, the players, are the center of attention -No large groups! The limit for this adventure is 4 players due to the nature of the adventure and what pregenerated characters are available. That said, if you have a friend who wants to join and we are near/at our limit, I am willing to increase to 6 players at max, as I do have a few more Call of Cthulhu pregenerated characters. -A relaxed, but structured and informative (via play) game play. I would like each of you playing to get both a good experience with a better idea of how the game works while getting to play something fun! I hope to see you soon!
Gameplay details
Session 0 will be a quick but frank discussion beforehand when characters are being given to ask any questions you may have and expectations you may have. I have a total and completely open door policy. If something rubs you wrong, all I ask is that you PM me and we can take a break and you and I can talk whatever issue you're having out. I ask that you give me the chance to fix an issue before dropping if something hits you wrong.
