About the adventure
Friendly and accepting attitude towards the group is required and expected. The newly opened Guild of Heroes in Neverwinter is looking for brave adventurers who seek riches, power, and glory. Adventurers from all over the world want to join the elite company of Legends, heroes who have already accomplished amazing deeds and secured their places in history. As Neverwinter becomes the most interesting place to be in the Forgotten Realms, our future heroes first find themselves in the small island town of Duskvale, near Neverwinter. Legends of the Forgotten Realms is a 1-20 adventure that combines an original homebrew story with some story beats from the most popular modules for DnD's fifth edition redesigned to fit the Legends story, with the Guild as the main connecting hub. Most importantly, your character's backstory is one of the main plot lines we will be exploring, so get creative and participate in the creation of a grand adventure in the Forgotten Realms and beyond!

About me
As a GM with more than a decade of experience, I have a passion for cooperative storytelling, so I do everything I can to enable my players to tell their own stories as part of larger campaigns. I encourage players to participate in worldbuilding, whether in a published adventure (no need to stick to the written adventure if it's just going to mess with us having fun) or homebrew worlds. While I am primarily focused on open-ended sandbox stories and world-building, I do not neglect any of the "three pillars" (exploration, combat, and social interaction). My experience with virtual tabletops and intimate knowledge of the rules allow players to jump right in without a care in the world since I can get you started quickly and help you learn as we go along. Numerous beginner groups started with me and slowly transitioned to longer, more serious campaigns, which is why I enjoy teaching new people how to play tabletop RPGs, but also why I run plenty of campaigns in higher tiers of play. I am an experienced and patient GM who will do his best to accommodate his players and run a story we can enjoy together.

Creating your character
Character creation will be done as a group during free session 0 to ensure party and campaign compatibility. The goal is to make sure that everyone's wishes are respected without compromising narrative integrity.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A Discord account, a web browser, and a webcam are needed. No other accounts or software need to be downloaded. Knowledge of the rules is not required because the game is open to beginners.
What George brings to the table
Full use of FoundryVTT's suite of features, including rules automation, animations and special effects, music, and more. Preference for rules as written with exceptions for obviously fun and important cool narrative moments.
Homebrew rules
Heroic Inspiration can stack up to 3. Short rests are only 10 minutes instead of an hour but only 2 can be taken between long rests. "Short rest to identify" rule is not used. The Identify spell is required to identify magic items.
