About George
As a GM with more than a decade of experience, I have a passion for cooperative storytelling, so I do everything I can to enable my players to tell their own stories as part of larger campaigns. I encourage players to participate in worldbuilding, whether in a published adventure (no need to stick to the written adventure if it's just going to mess with us having fun) or homebrew worlds. While I am primarily focused on open-ended sandbox stories and world-building, I do not neglect any of the "three pillars" (exploration, combat, and social interaction). My experience with virtual tabletops and intimate knowledge of the rules allow players to jump right in without a care in the world since I can get you started quickly and help you learn as we go along. Numerous beginner groups started with me and slowly transitioned to longer, more serious campaigns, which is why I enjoy teaching new people how to play tabletop RPGs, but also why I run plenty of campaigns in higher tiers of play. I am an experienced and patient GM who will do his best to accommodate his players and run a story we can enjoy together.

I became a GM because
I wanted to tell grand stories with my friends and no one else wanted to GM. Luckily, I discovered a deep and unending passion for GMing and have kept it for over a decade.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
DnD because it is the familiar classic that got me into the hobby. Genesys because there is no limit to the types of stories it can support. Ninja Crusade so I can enjoy some Naruto-themed stories.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing ttrpg content and designing my own rpg, or just reading books, watching movies, and exploring fictional worlds in any way I can.
How George runs games
I prefer running open-world, sandbox adventures with a balanced approach to combat, exploration, and social roleplaying, using homebrew if it's necessary to make a particular pillar more fun. For example, combat in my games always serves a purpose instead of being a mindless slaughter for levels and there are plenty of challenges that do not involve combat at all. Regardless of the setting, I try to include the players in world-building and story creation, though I also encourage more passive or timid players to just come along for the ride. I allow all official material and some decently made homebrew because I want players to make the characters they want to play. The adventures are tailored to the characters' strengths and weaknesses to provide a challenging but fulfilling experience. If a class or subclass is on the weaker side, I usually homebrew a buff, so the players can enjoy themselves and not feel obligated to pick the most optimal options. All my games are hosted through FoundryVTT on a dedicated server that is available 24/7 to all my players. As a GM I know the rules by heart and love teaching new players so if you want an experience tailored specifically for your group in the most powerful virtual tabletop available, I would be happy to provide it. I run campaigns for 3-6 players, and I would love it if you were one of them.

I deal with rules issues by...
Discussing them with my players and explaining my rationale behind any given ruling. By taking player feedback into account, Istrive to find common ground we can all be happy with.
My games focus on...
Groups of characters with deep interpersonal relationships in living worlds that react to their decisions and deeds. The world must live and breathe to enable the players' characters to come to life.
Rules are...
Something we agree on to keep the game running smoothly. We should not blindly follow the rulebook but it is equally pointless to toss out the entire book whenever we encounter a challenge.
George's ideal table
Players with friendly attitudes and open minds who want to tell deep and dynamic stories in equally dynamic worlds, regardless of system or setting. Ideally, we'd all be on webcams to have as close an experience to an in-person game as possible. We could see each other laughing at jokes and gasping at moving story beats.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Emerging and dynamic storytelling that reacts and adapts to your choices
I love it when a player
Roleplays their character according to their backstory without being obsessed with optimal choices and without stepping on fellow players' toes.
My table is not the place for...
Players who view themselves alone as the protagonist instead of the party as a group that shares the spotlight. If you're not going to be friends with the group and share in the group's successes and failures, why play...
