About the adventure

Join an established, welcoming group for our third long-term campaign. If you’ve been searching for a genuine table—one that’s inclusive, creative, and full of laughter—this is a rare opportunity to join something special. We are only roughly 12 sessions in. The world of Ryn is vast and waiting, and your story in it has only just begun The Moon of Orantis is a rich, story-driven Dungeons & Dragons fantasy campaign set on Ryn, a moon orbiting the luminous gas giant Orantis. The world is alive with glowing jungles, endless shifting deserts, and ancient powers that blur the line between light and shadow. Players step into a mythic saga of balance and corruption, where every choice shapes the fragile magic that sustains life itself. Our story began in Glowleaf Village, where bioluminescent forests shelter a people devoted to harmony. But the light is faltering, and the rise of Umbral forces threatens to unravel reality. You’ll uncover long-lost ruins, confront living shadows, and chase whispers of the first magic—Aum, the source from which the others split. This is a collaborative, roleplay-focused campaign that blends deep worldbuilding with cinematic storytelling. Expect moral choices, heartfelt character arcs, and a tone that balances wonder with mystery. Combat is meaningful, but the heart of the story lies in the connections you forge; with your party, and with the world itself.

About me

Hello all! I’m Seth (Aby) , an avid Game Master and player of 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons, Monster of the Week and other PbtA games. I am happy to run games for new and experienced players alike. I typically run homebrew games, but I have been known to occasionally run published adventures as well. Let’s go questing!

Character creation

Creating your character

Game Rules for Player Characters in Ryn 1. Rynchildren: The Unique Beings of Ryn No Races, Only Uniqueness: Every character is a Rynchild, a one-of-a-kind creation of Orantis. While mechanics from traditional races (elf, dwarf, human, etc.) still apply, these designations do not exist in Ryn. Instead, characters describe their appearance and abilities in ways that feel personal and distinctive: "I was born with crystalline patterns across my skin, reflecting the Lumina Crystal's glow." "I’m swift and lithe, with long, moss-like hair and glowing green eyes." 2. No Class Titles, Only Descriptions What You Do, Not What You Are: Classes (e.g., monk, sorcerer, warlock) are represented by their mechanics, but in Ryn, no one uses these labels. Instead, characters describe their skills or powers in terms of their uniqueness: "I have learned to focus my inner strength to deliver devastating strikes and protect others." "I weave energy from the leylines into protective shields and fiery blasts."

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players will be required to have a mic, a discord account and a roll 20 account. Having at least a lose grasp on the rules is ideal, but if not I am more than willing to help. If using DnD Beyond, The Beyond20 web extension is needed as well.

What Seth (SideQuest Games) brings to the table

In The Moon of Orantis, I focus on crafting deep, tailored stories that grow from player choices. The world is reactive, not railroaded—your decisions genuinely shape the fate of Ryn. Every action has weight, and the story will evolve around the paths you carve together. You can expect a richly atmospheric experience supported by mood music, evocative imagery, and detailed battlemaps when combat arises. I strike a balance between cinematic storytelling and tactical encounters, offering both emotional depth and strategic challenge. Player agency is at the heart of the campaign. I encourage creativity, roleplay, and character-driven choices that influence the greater narrative. Whether you’re chasing ancient secrets or forging bonds in the heart of the wilds, the world will respond to you. This group is already tightly knit and thrives on immersive storytelling, collaboration, and emotional investment. You’ll be joining a welcoming table that loves to roleplay deeply, celebrate each other’s moments, and explore a world that rewards curiosity and courage.
