Drag Me to the Hells
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
You came to Baldur's Gate to make a name for yourself. You didn't expect to almost immediately get entangled in the planes-spanning Blood War. You also didn't expect to contend with Zariel in the first level of the Nine Hells. How you proceed on that battlefield is up to you, but there is more: each of you have lost someone or something to the Hells in the past...and it seems fate has given each of you a chance to reclaim that which you have lost should you continue your descent. There is salvation to be had, so long as you are able to avoid all obstacles in your path...up to and including the Lord of the Ninth himself, Asmodeus. Long story short: You're going to Hell. If and/or how you return is entirely up to you.... This is a campaign designed for 3-6 players and will take characters from 1st level all the way to 20th, as it combines the "Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus" module with the "Chains of Asmodeus" module.
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Sets the Mood
I personally felt the DM to be lazy. Often not describing locations, people, or creatures mainly during exploration of cities or forestry. This takes away from my ability to actually explore what the world might have to offer. Combat scenes were similar with little build up and extremely little role-play involved (it slashes at you.. it breaths poison on you..) I’d say the biggest issue I had was his inability to take initiative in the respect that he is the leader (DM) after all, and he must make the show go on. It feels he’s attempting to breeze by not creating a world for us to explore thus forcing the most communicative players to take the reins of creating an enjoyable game because other than communicating with each other my character has only spoken with 1 other character (other than party members) the entire 3 sessions I’ve played in. (I’d like to buy a health potion.. DONE!) :( where is the vendors where is the emersion. Also the lack of care about our backstories or their creation during session 0. If you don’t care about these things the DM is great and goodluck to you!
I've been in multiple games where the DM has a certain path forward, and if your idea disrupts their path, it either doesn't work or you get punished while it "works".... Noir is the exact opposite. This man has mastered rolling with the punches, letting my "I may not have a brain, but I have an idea" tactics play out. And if the idea actually wouldn't work, he doesn't just say "it doesn't work, try something else". He lets you know exactly why it doesn't work, so you can plan around it in later plans. 11/10 DM
Nemesis has created a rich and vibrant world for his players to explore. Players and their stories always feel like an integral part of the main story. If you want a great narrative, incredible NPCs, plot twists, and an all-around good time definitely join one of his games. New and experienced players alike can benefit from his knowledge of the rules, but there is always room to try something random and off-the-wall!

How to prepare
Players will need access to both Discord and D&D Beyond, as well as a mic. Webcams will not be required in this campaign.
What I provide
I'll be using a combination of Discord and D&D Beyond/Maps to run this campaign. I will be doing character voices as well as providing ambient music/sound effects. I will also be using the updated 2024 ruleset, though you are still welcome to use legacy content in building your characters. Battle maps will be used, but the Rule of Cool will be embraced so long as you can offer up a compelling argument as to why it should in a particular instance.
Gameplay details
Session 0 will be spent giving an overview of the game and assisting with character creation. Lines and veils will be made available upon request.
