Shadowrun | Campaign

About the adventure

Join an ongoing weekly campaign, set in the early days of the Shadowrun setting - where magic has returned to the world, bringing dragons to the boardroom, orks to the slums, and a whole new levelof intrigue and danger to the cybernetic future. Low magic, high tech, low life. You'll play a 'Shadowrunner', an urban mercenary and troubleshooter, trying to eke out a living while avoiding the scrutiny of the big corporations. You never know what kind of work you'll get offered next. Rob a corporate data-bank? Solve a murder? Play bodyguard to the latest sim-sense starlet? Or participate in a full on tactical assault on a hardened facility? The higher the risk, the bigger the reward. Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never, ever, cut a deal with a dragon. About the game system: We'll be playing a modified version of Shadowrun 5th Edition, using official adventures from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition, adapted for the system.

I'm trying to learn as much I can about Shadowrun, sat in with Rob's crew and smoothly hit the ground running. I was impressed with how well the story moved without getting bogged down by the mechanics which is 100% a credit to the DM's confidence and knowledge of the system.

Robert knows the Shadowrun system exceptionally well and creates an engaging and fun world where you don’t have to min-max to succeed. His focus on storytelling ensures that every session feels immersive and full of rich narrative depth. He makes the game interactive and dynamic, incorporating lots of cool maps and visuals that enhance the experience. Robert is also incredibly welcoming to newcomers, making the complexities of Shadowrun approachable and enjoyable for all skill levels. 10/10 would recommend him as a GM for anyone looking to dive into a Shadowrun campaign!

Great GM, especially for Shadowrun 5e, which can be quite complex for beginners. Very helpful and brings the game to the level needed for everyone to have fun. He creates the best atmosphere for the game, with crazy maps and music, as well as great voice acting. Don't hesitate if you want to find that wonderful game a try !

Robert is a great GM for Shadowrun. If you haven't ever played SR but are curious about it, Robert's game is for you. He knows the rules, but is able to flex them so the story and game session keep moving forward instead of bogging down. Since SR is so crunchy this is a great attribute in my opinion. It allows his games to have the satisfying crunch that draws lots of people to the game as well as being a narrative blast to participate in. His table is filled with great graphics and music as well and he clearly puts in time on the story to make it interesting and fun.

What I provide

Character creation will be handled in Session 0. We'll be using FoundryVTT to track character stats, no account is required. We'll use Discord for communication, a free account is required. This is an ongoing weekly game, with a revolving cast of characters. Characters and plots are tracked on a dedicated wiki page. We'll be playing a lot of modules from the early days of the Shadowrun system, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Edition. So be prepared to see the 2050s as envisioned in the 1980s and 90s!

How will character creation work

During Session 0, I'll guide you through the character creation process. The rules are complex, but don't worry. I'll make sure you leave character creation with something fun! Any degree of familiarity with the Shadowrun setting is nice, but not required. More importantly, come with an idea of what might be fun for you to play!
