About the adventure

The world teeters on the edge of annihilation. For centuries, the name of Vecna has been whispered in the dark, his sinister influence seeping into the corners of history. Once thought to be nothing more than a myth—a cautionary tale for those who sought forbidden knowledge—Vecna is returning, and with him, the promise of ultimate destruction. The ancient lich’s followers have begun to stir, and strange, unnatural events ripple across the land. Secrets long buried are coming to light, and those who seek power are falling under his sway. The skies darken with portents, and the ground quakes as if anticipating the cataclysm that is soon to unfold. As the clock ticks toward the moment of Vecna’s return, the fabric of reality itself begins to fray. In a world on the brink of ruin, old alliances are tested, ancient evils awaken, and those who would stand against the Lich King must gather, for time is running out. The final battle for the fate of the realms is at hand—will you stand in the shadow of Vecna's dark hand, or will you fight alongside some of the most legendary heroes to prevent the destruction of the multiverse? The Eve of Ruin has arrived. THIS IS A CAMPAIGN STARTING OFF AT LEVEL 10 IN THE FORGOTTEN REALMS AND WILL RUN ALL THE WAY UNTIL LEVEL 20! GET READY FOR BATTLES OF EPIC PROPORTIONS!

About me

🐿️Hey guys, Squirrel here!🐿️ 😮With over 1 year and over 400 games under my belt, I've realized that if you work hard enough you can truly turn your passion into work. And as they say if you love your job, you never work a day in your life! With 10+ years TTRPG experience and a lifelong love for acting (including some time as a scare actor) I thrive to bring my players moments that they will talk about for a VERY long time! 🎲During my session you can expect fantastic storytelling, a passion for collaborative storytelling, Individual NPC voices as well as patience to help players of all skill levels! Everyone starts somewhere, so why not start here and let's build your story together! 🫂Outside of StartPlaying I also run an AWESOME community of people! Our community holds itself to be inclusive to all people, no matter of ANY difference! (Yes, that includes skill difference! We will help you out~ 😛) No matter the table, I've always found myself surrounded by some of the coolest people! So what are you waiting for? Sign up for a game and meet some of the coolest people around! 🎆Well Gamers, Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! Hope to see you around the table, and may your Ds always be 20!

Character creation

Creating your character

Players should make a level 10 character using the 2014 rulings with either point-buy or standard array before session zero. During session zero I will tell you the amount of gold you will be given to start off and the PDF you may use for your magic item shopping All sourcebooks on DNDBeyond are ALLOWED :D however homebrew content must first be checked over by myself

The current party

Currently have a Blood Hunter, A Wizard, A Ranger, A Bardlock and a Cleric and are Level 14! Party just finished exploring Eberron

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to have/bring: -A Microphone and Discord Downloaded -A DNDBeyond and a Roll20 account (They're both free) -Beyond20 Browser extension for Firefox or Chrome (Not necessary but makes stuff easier) -Your character, if you've decided to make it in advance -A Webcam (If you would like to use video, but this isn't required) -A Positive Attitude and a BIG Smile :D

What Squirrel brings to the table

As your GM, I bring a variety of tools to each of my games. Aside from the typical stuff (Roll20, Discord and DNDBeyond), I also really enjoy bringing NPCs to life with different personalities and voices, as well as a constant ambient backtrack to make you really feel immersed in the world. When it comes to rulings, I like to read the table. If the table wants a hardcore RAW experience then we will stick to the rules as they were written, but if the table is looking to kick back and have fun then I'm totally here for it! Rules are only as fun as we at the table make them. Lastly, when you're playing at my table, pack extra smiles and be prepared to HAVE FUN!

Safety

How Squirrel creates a safe table

When it comes to player safety and comfort nothing is more important, which is why during every session zero I make sure to ask my players about their limits by doing a quick check in about each players triggers and Xs or Ns, letting them know any content warnings that may be present in the adventure and informing them about my open door, break and debrief policies. Players are also welcome at any time to either take breather or a break from the game, and at no point will they ever be asked to go into detail about ANYTHING they may not be comfortable with. Also, while the game is going on, if at any point a player needs content to stop immediately, they may hold up an X/N or type one in chat. This will allow me to make the necessary moves needed to make sure everyone continues to have a great time playing! Lastly, I am a huge believer in debriefing/aftercare. At the end of each session I will always hang around for anywhere between 15-30 minutes to chat about the session and to just generally hang out with anyone who wants to stick around! This is great for sessions where we may get into some heavier content so we can either discuss it or unpack it if need be! Remember, your comfort and your fun come first!
