About the adventure
Venturing far and wide on the open seas sails the fearsome "Ocean’s Quarry," a working title for a smaller vessel. Even though the captain hasn’t had the most experience as a pirate, he has all the enthusiasm to do his best. And, he's always paid you handsomely for your work. While out at sea, the Ocean’s Quarry encountered something remarkable. A real pirate’s treasure map! (It’s actually real this time!) With the map, the crew, and a few new faces hired to help navigate, the Ocean’s Quarry sets sail towards finding their prize. However, you weren’t prepared for what was to come… A story filled with pirates, monsters, mysterious magics, and fantasy creatures, Lost in Neverland takes you directly into the world of Neverland. While there is wonderment to the world, there is also darkness. This game is inspired by Our Flag Means Death and the several works involving Peter Pan and Neverland. Thus, the story will be full of LGBTQIA+ characters, and lots of trickery. As such, this is a safe space for all!

About me
Hello friends! I’ve been a Game Master for smaller games of 4-6 players for about 5 years. My favorite aspect of being a GM is world-building and character creation. Thus, I love homebrew content and homebrew worlds. The stories I tell are not just mine, they are told by the players as well. If you would love an action-packed fantasy adventure, with intricate roleplay opportunities, and a story that connects to your character’s backstory, I’m the Game Master for you!

Creating your character
All characters will start at level 8. Playable races are anythin! In this setting, Neverland is a high-magic realm. The pirates on the Ocean’s Quarry are coming from a low-magic universe. **In this world, there is a film or fog that distorts the true appearance of more magical/fantasy creatures. Similar to the myst in Percy Jackson series. Those who can cast magic can see the world for what it truly is. Casters can see tieflings and dragonborns clearly. But people without the ability to cast, without that trained eye, cannot see the real world. Thus, you can pick any class/subclass you'd like to, but if you do choose to play any race that's not within basic rules (or play a tiefling, half-orc or dragonborn), know that most people have never seen your true form. The second you arrive in Neverland, that fog is lifted, and everyone can see your true form. It allows for some cool roleplay opportunities.** All character sheets must be created on dndBeyond. This way I can see your characters, and if I need to give you homebrew magic items. Plus, you'll get to have access to all my unlocked content to build your character. Rolling for Stats: Using dndbeyond.com you will utilize the group rolling system. Select 3 groups and roll each one on the site. Once you have rolled out all your stats, pick one and assign each number to an ability. If you roll 3 sets that have multiple 7's, 8's or 9's, I'll let you roll one more time for a total of 4 sets. Rolling for HP: You can either take the average HP or roll for HP to try and max it out. If you roll horribly, you have the option to pick average. Starting Equipment & Magic Items: Each player will start with 200 gold pieces to purchase anything you'd like for your character, and for free you also get: - Armor: You can choose any one type of non-magical armor - Weapons: the choice of - any 2 non-magical weapons - 2 potions of healing - (optional) 1 trinket from the trinket table - 1 uncommon or rare magic item
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Create a character with the perimeters listed above before the one shot starts. We will be using dndBeyond, Roll20, and Discord. Please also have the Chrome extension “Beyond 20” downloaded and installed so that your dndBeyond rolls will be linked and posted on Roll 20. For rolling dice, we will be using dndBeyond or Roll20. This way everyone is playing fair. This one shot will be audio based (via discord), so a microphone is required to play (headset microphones work fine, no need for a fancy one). Video is optional, so a webcam is not required. When you join the Roll20 link, make sure you turn off audio and video so that there's no feedback or echoing. While playing the game, we will be using Roll20. At the moment, Roll20 is not available on mobile devices, so you'll need access to a computer to play.
What Caralight brings to the table
I will be providing detailed VTT maps on Roll20 so players will be able to see exactly what is in front of them. I will also provide full access to the source books I own on dndBeyond for character building.

How Caralight creates a safe table
Players can expect a medium-paced game with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. At the start of the game, we will have a 15 minute introduction & icebreaker to ensure everyone works well together. We will have a short Luxton Technique Discussion to make sure we don’t discuss any triggers or potential ones. Content Warnings Description: Alcohol Use and Cursing, I have an occasional drink and I tend to curse both in and out of character. Monsters may attempt to drown characters. Players are technically "kidnapped" to Neverland and must face challenges to return to the material plane. Fire (because I'm sure someone may have the Fireball spell). And memory erasing may occur at the end of the game, based on player decisions.
