About the adventure
Dive into the Mystery of Phandalin! Uncover the secrets of the frontier town where all is not as it seems. Phandalin is taken by unusual events, strange enchantments, and sightings of the enigmatic creatures from the depths. And yes, goblins are causing chaos once again, but what other mysteries lurk in the wilds and the Deep? Rediscover the timeless adventure of Lost Mines of Phandelver, now expanded into a full campaign packed with thrilling surprises. Here's the twist: Once you've navigated through the initial adventure to about 5th Level, your journey doesn't end. Choose your path from a variety of exciting campaign continuations, voted on by you and your fellow adventurers! ☠ Lost Mines of Phandelver with Option to Expand. ☠ Classic Lost Mines that has been improved and expanded. ☠ Uses Greyhawk Setting and New Rules for 2024. ☠ Old School style with New School rules. ☠ Beginner Friendly, yet still fun for Grizzled Veterans. Embark on this epic saga where every choice shapes your journey, and every corner holds a new secret to unveil. Are you ready to adventure like never before? My forte as a storyteller is folding in the player characters (PCs) into the narrative in a meaningful way, bringing NPCs to life that you will love and hate (and sometimes both), and making the world feel open and dynamic.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome, adventurers, to the realm of pen, dice, and paper! I am your guide, a creative writer, game designer, and fervent enthusiast of role-playing games. My journey began over 35 years ago in a cabin in the woods, where I first rolled the dice as a player of Dungeons & Dragons. Since then, I've more often taken up the mantle of Dungeon Master, weaving tales and guiding heroes through countless adventures. Based in Florida, I share my life with my wonderful wife and our three adventurous 'hobbits'. Here, in the world of Tabletop RPGs, I believe the true magic lies in the Story, the Characters, and the Choices they make. These elements combine to create those unforgettable, truly epic moments that define our journeys. Join me, and let's embark on a narrative adventure where your choices shape the saga.

What Daniel Shelton brings to the table
I bring to the board a Fantasy Ground Unity Ultimate License as well as many licensed products for 5E D&D. Further, I have created my additional materials and have prepared for Next Steps after Lost Mines. As a teacher/tutor I can help teach newcomers learn to play. In addition, I have a wealth of knowledge and familiarity of TTRPGs as a DM so that you have a solid and positive experience in gameplay. I am an author that brings to the table a rich world in which to explore and I am a teacher that uses those skills to help players understand how the game is played.
Homebrew rules
I curated my House Rules with the aid of my current player base. We adopt some 2014 Rules into the new 2024 Rules (such as Stealth and passive Perception), Levels of Exhaustion for reaching 0 hit points, Optional Rules for slower recoveries, Common Sense fixes to new issues with the new version, Criticals on Checks & Saves (but no roll for impossible events). This makes for a challenging yet fun gameplay with all the shiny new stuff, plus some balance to keep it playable. Two-page House Rule document shared on join.

How Daniel Shelton creates a safe table
This campaign involves a balance of planning, fighting, exploring, and socializing though this varies greatly based on player choice. There is a ton of freedom although that can be daunting and choices have consequences. This game contains the themes of war, danger, and evil not appropriate for the faint of heart. I am also very approachable with any concerns that you may have.
