Ashes in the Age of Aquarius
Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, World of Darkness | Campaign
About the adventure
It’s January 1967, and San Francisco is buzzing with change, caught between the hopeful call of “free love” and a rising tide of paranoia. The Human "Be-In" is just around the corner, set to draw thousands of flower children to Golden Gate Park in a celebration of peace and unity. Beneath this newfound freedom, a darker tension brews. Fear of the unknown, clashes with authority, and whispers of war haunt the city’s corners as the Vietnam draft looms large and civil rights protests shake the nation. The Kindred of San Francisco find themselves swept into this cultural rip tide, battling for control over a city on the brink. Camarilla elders tighten their grip, wary of change and the chaos the Anarchs are so quick to embrace. But the younger Kindred feel the call of rebellion and see an opportunity in the upheaval, a chance to dismantle the power structures holding them back. With the Summer of Love still a distant promise, San Francisco is already a battleground of ideals, fear, and forbidden power. In this city, every choice echoes down foggy streets and through packed gatherings, shaping the future of the City by the Bay. Step into the heart of 1967, where love and fear collide, and decide where your loyalty lies—because peace and paranoia are two sides of the same coin, and both are poised to change everything.
Game style
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Teacher
JJ is a fantastic GM, I'm really thankful to have found his games! His improv ability and roll playing is fantastic, he expertly adapts to account for player skill (or in my case, lack thereof! :) ), and ensures everyone is having fun. I've enjoyed getting to learn a couple of new systems with JJ, and hope to have a seat at his table(s) for a long time to come.
In the time I have spent in JJ's games I have experienced interesting, original stories that respond to both the rich worlds he builds up, and the dynamic characters he allows players to design without restrictions. A great experience that doesn't get muddied by transaction relationships, JJ is a genuine good human who respects his player's time and investment to his games.

I will organize it all so everyone enjoys the experience, and take pride in doing so.
