Star Wars "Ep II" : The Pyrrhic Ambush - Empire era, ongoing RP

Star Wars RPG by Fantasy Flight Games | Campaign

About the adventure

It is a dark time for the Galaxy. Although the ancient SITH weapon has been destroyed, the EMPIRE have constructed another, more powerful hidden base and is nearing the completion of project DEATH STAR. Evading the Dark influence of the Imperial Troops, a group of Jedi led by Yotilda Atuhlkaa, have scattered across the stars to weather the imperial storm. The evil lord Darth Sidious, obsessed with keeping the Jedi extinct, has now decided to dispatch hundreds of agents into the far reaches of space, with the intent to lure the JEDI through whatever means necessary.... This Saga is intended for any fan of the Star Wars movies and want to experience a high-roleplay, high-drama epic just like on the big screen! With the FFG Force & Destiny, Age of Rebellion, and Edge of the Empire game systems, dynamic dice roll results feel complete with complications and built-in plot twists. The combat system is complex in theory but smooth in application, from shallow-orbit spaceship dogfights to monumental lightsaber duels filled with danger. Join a team of Jedi as a force-sensitive scoundrel, a dedicated member of the Rebellion, or as a Jedi-in-hiding yourself!

Recruiting notes

We are currently underway! However, if you think you can fit into the existing narrative, we may be able to include you! Before the first session that you join, we will need to schedule a FREE SESSION 0!!! --- Join the second Episode of a Star Wars trilogy! After the events of 'Across the Stars' during the Clone Wars, the Jedi are now in hiding or on the run. But the Force is not through with them yet. Finding new allies in the next generation of the Galaxy, the Players will need to rise once more to stand against the Dark Side and the Empire in equal measure.

Jeremiah is an excellent GM. The world felt vivid and magical, the game flow and pacing worked very well. It was an all around wonderful and fun experience. I'm looking forward to the next sessions.

The Dm is extremely patient and will make sure you are included in the game. He does good voices that put you in the world. I never feel like I been railroaded or hurried along. Please hire this Dm if you want epic stories with fun characters. Another good aspect is the clear communication there is. To be good communication is necessary to a great game and the dm has great communication skills.

Funny, charming and paid a great deal of attention to character roleplay, facts that were shared either during character creation or over the course of the game. Whenever there was room for input it was asked to the table, whenever there might be difficult choices mechanically they offered advice, a gamemaster that I would happily invite to a birthday party or out for a cup of coffee.

Jeremiah is absolutely stellar. They put so much into their world building that your PCs have the opportunity to tell an amazing story within it. They don’t trap your characters in a narrow story arc, instead they allow for personal and coterie character growth that enhances any narrative they have planned. I would 10000% recommend Jeremiah to anyone who wants to truly experience the full potential of a TTRPG. Your character is more than their stats, they come alive in Jeremiah’s games. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Awesome story teller! We did a short campaign to get to know the candela obscura play style. Even though this was his first go at the game, mine too, you wouldn't have really known it, everything went over smoothly.

Ran a short Candela Obscura campaign with newbies to the system, all went well. Very helpful and communicative in both the leadup to sessions as well as in the sessions themselves. Had a lot of fun and enjoyed the campaign

How to prepare

You must have a Discord account and a decent mic. Please use push-to-talk. You will need a digital character sheet or be able to scan in your physical character sheet. A webcam is not required, but does help with enhancing non-verbal communication. Please read as much of the pertinent Star Wars FFG core rulebook as you are comfortable with in preparation for the game. For newer/less active Players, this will help me so that we can focus on your questions instead of general introduction to game concepts (though all questions are welcome). I also suggest checking out the main Star Wars saga movies to refresh yourself. While I enjoy some of the other movies, shows, and games (and might be disappointed by one of the main movies), I do want folks to have the freedom & common ground of using the main Saga as our 'primary game lore'.

What I provide

I have copies of all books being used in this campaign, starting with Force & Destiny, Edge of the Empire, and Age of Rebellion. The campaign will primarily be hosted on Discord, with Video/Voice sessions weekly. Voices, acting, and music will be used in addition to a really nice dice bot and the occasional map. AI art will be used for the NPCs and locations featured throughout. Theatre of the mind will be utilized for combat; time management is far more important than mapping distances, so a visual map is less important here, but can be provided for clarity. Range Bands will be used visually where needed. Players can expect their actions and decisions to drive the game more than anything else!

Gameplay details

Expect the game to utilize the Star Wars FFG core books in system mechanics, narrative lore, and gameplay philosophy. Additional books, like the complementary Age of Rebellion and Edge of the Empire, will be included in later chapters of the Saga and/or per party discretion. Safety Tools: Session 0 will include House Rules (mechanics, lore, and/or table etiquette), Character Creation, Party Creation, and discussions about content warnings, desired in/out-of character goals, and other such matters. The general content in this game should match the expectations of a mainstream Star Wars movie. While swearing and other 'Rated R' content will not be forbidden, it will be discouraged and downplayed per Party taste. A survey will be put out with a checklist of hard Lines (for example, there will be NO depictions of SA) or Veils (for example, excessive violence will be glossed over/alluded to discreetly). At any time you may alter your own limits on Lines and Veils, but at all times those currently established will be respected. When in doubt, utilize the X, N, O cards freely. X/N/O Cards will be used in the chat at any time by posting one of those letters. When anyone sees a X, N, or O signal in the chat, please 'boost the signal' by copying the message in chat or repeating it out-loud until the message is seen by me and I can react appropriately. In most cases, no further clarification will be necessary regarding the subject matter. I tend to incorporate one 5-10 minute break roughly halfway into the session for personal use and I have an open table policy where Players may take whatever breaks they need for their own comfort. Please communicate these breaks wherever you can in the chat, per table etiquette, but this is not a break prerequisite.

How will character creation work

During Session 0 we will go through character creation as individuals that find themselves around the Kel Dor homeworld in the Dorin system. There, both the Force and the sinister actions of the Empire have driven you to this unique system out of desperation, in search of answers, or to confront the Dark Side. We will go through the standard character creation per the pertinent core rulebook, with both previously existing and new Players contributing to a collaborative story in a greater narrative. You will also get an increased XP budget to match character concept. This is Episode II in an ongoing trilogy. Though there are Player Characters and plotlines from Episode I, the Player Characters and stories presented in this Episode will be the most significant for play and have its own narrative arc.
