About the adventure

The forest path twists away out of view, blocked by massive tree trunks and low hanging branches. Pushing your way forward you hear the distant howl of some primal beast, hunting some hapless prey. You pause, listen, and move on again. It pays to be cautious when traveling in the Old Margreve, and the animals are just one of the dangers. You've heard that the forest can take care of itself, stranding and starving those that offend it. Or simply making them disappear in the night. The Margreve is said to have ties to ancients magics, and many would give anything to learn these powerful secrets. Are you here to protect the forest? Or plunder its secrets? The Old Margreve Forest is an ancient place, already old when most of the gods were young. In time immemorial, it cradled the great spirits of nature, and its loam felt the footfalls of the old ones. As millennia passed, its roots swallowed rivers, its canopy stole the sun from vast tracts of land, and its groves crested mountains that have since weathered into hills. In all that time, the Margreve has changed little. Time seems to flow around it, lapping at the edges like the sea around an island. As kingdoms rise and fall beyond its borders, the Margreve remains a world apart - a place where memories and old magic linger in the rings of trees and where new ideas never quite take root. Adventure and mystery lurk along the twisting paths of the Margreve. Do you dare to enter? Do you have what it takes to leave?
