Wyld West

Wyld West

Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition, World of Darkness | Campaign

About the adventure

Three gunslingers stand over the ancient weapon of a fallen hero, revolvers held upon each other in a Mexican Standoff, silently contemplating which of the others' bullets are silver. A pack fights to free the town from the grip of a cattle baron, whose personal tastes run darker than beef. Atop a speeding train, an engineer compels the smoke-belching spirits of the railway itself to combat a medicine man's summoned ancestors protecting their homeland. These are the sorts of stories we will tell together in the Wyld West.

Game style

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Gregory is an amazing GameMaster. His historic setting knowledge is excellent, he invests in the personal story arcs of the characters while providing a beautiful plot that keeps the game moving forward and the characters invested. I felt welcomed and a part of the game immediately; and this I think also has to do with how he has curated a wonderful set of players. The vibe of the group is supportive, lets tell this story together. I loved every session! Highly recommend him: Innovative plot, spectacular settings, great NPCs, and really let's the players shine and explore the themes important to their characters.

I first got lured in by offerings of Werewolf: the Apocalypse and being a forever GM looking to play for a change. Now I play in three of Gregory’s campaigns a week and would play more if I had the time. He’s an amazing GM who crafts intricate worlds, memorable NPCs, and most importantly, leaves room for player agency and fun. He’s always willing to work with you on character concepts, he’s great at explaining rules or nuances of settings to new players as well, and creates a fun, inclusive atmosphere for everyone at his table. Can’t recommend Gregory enough. If you love WoD, you won’t regret playing one of his campaigns.

I have played in 4 different campaigns with Greg and will be continuing to play in his campaigns for the foreseeable future. The worlds he builds are full of surprises and always have something hidden going on in the background for the players to explore. He is very new player friendly in the sense of making sure the player not only knows the rules but why they are used that way in his story. He is very familiar with WoD lore and does amazing at including it in the story whilst also not rail roading you to make all events happen to the exact way they were written. I hope this helps in any choices made and look forward to seeing new faces in his WoD.

Gregory is a wonderful Storyteller and helped introduce me to M20 and the 20th editions of WoD in general! The session was very fun and I can't wait to continue playing with him in V20.

Games with Greg are a highlight of my week. He builds an entire world where you can immerse yourself. He also makes it easy for you to be an active participant in the story. I have enjoyed seeing the growth and story arcs of my character.

How will character creation work

Characters will all be normal werewolves of some sort (and considering the character ideas so far, will need to at least be able to work with Iron Riders.) The starting rank and such will be determined collectively during session 0.
