About the adventure
Unsworn at a misty crossroads, you receive a dying courier’s warning: “The guilds are watching. Deliver this before the Moon wakes the old stones.” In the Moonshroud Realms, real power belongs to guilds and factions — the Royal Adventuring Society, the Runners & Couriers Guild, the Nightblades, and the secretive Obsidian Veil. Most adventurers eventually swear oaths and pick a side. Your characters haven’t. You begin as the Unsworn — unaffiliated and free to choose your path… or to build something new. When a dying courier staggers into a foggy crossroads inn and presses a sealed message into your hands, you’re suddenly caught in a web of intrigue that could shift the balance of power across Algar. The guilds are already watching. The mists are rising early. And something ancient is stirring beneath the seven moons. Will you deliver the message and earn favor with one of the guilds? Keep it and stay independent? Or use it to play the factions against each other? Every choice carries weight in a world where actions have lasting consequences. This is a player-driven campaign focused on political intrigue, meaningful decisions, exploration, and classic adventure. Your group’s undecided status is central — being unsworn is not a weakness, but a unique strength and source of tension. Expect tense social encounters, moral gray areas, and a living world that reacts to what you do (and don’t) swear allegiance to. About the DM I’m an experienced DM running multiple concurrent long-term campaigns in the shared Moonshroud Realms setting. I prioritize rules integrity, collaborative storytelling, and making sure every player’s choices feel meaningful. I use custom tools and homebrew to keep the game smooth and immersive while staying true to the grounded tone of the world. Who Should Apply Players who enjoy political intrigue, faction play, and campaigns where loyalty and choice actually matter. People who like thinking about “what does my character believe and who do they trust?” Ideal for those who want their decisions to shape the world rather than just react to it. Apply with a short concept or backstory idea for an unsworn adventurer. Tell me what kind of story or tone excites you most. Looking forward to building something cool with you.

Skill/Knowledge Checks: You must be proficient in a knowledge or tool to use it. Critical Hits: On a critical hit, the damage is maximum damage plus another die roll instead of doubling dice. Flanking: When a creature and at least one of its allies are adjacent to an enemy and positioned on opposite sides or corners of the enemy's space, they flank that enemy. How BWatford creates a safe table
This campaign explores grounded high fantasy with political intrigue, moral gray areas, difficult choices, and the consequences of power and loyalty. Expect themes of betrayal, shifting alliances, violence, and the personal cost of decisions. I prioritize player safety and clear communication. We will use the following tools: Lines & Veils discussion during Session 0 (and anytime afterward) X-Card (or equivalent) available at all times — play can pause or skip with no questions asked Open Door policy — you can step away from the table or end your participation at any time Regular check-ins, especially before or after heavy scenes Topics that may appear: Political maneuvering, moral compromise, violence, death, and the weight of loyalty or betrayal. Topics that will not appear without explicit prior consent: sexual violence, graphic torture, child endangerment, or real-world prejudice and bigotry. Your comfort matters. We’ll talk through expectations together before the game starts, and you’re always free to update your boundaries later. I want everyone at the table to feel safe while still being able to explore the darker and more complex sides of the setting.
