About the adventure

A terrible threat gathers in The Crusader's Marches. Throughout this region of Kelvastra, amidst monster and marauder attacks, discord and suspicion grow in settlements. Sinister strangers lurk in the shadows, whispering how everything is soon to change. This year brought an unseasonably warm and stormy spring. Tales of flooding, windstorms, wildfires, and tremors. Four cults, devoted to each of the elements, lead the way to bring devastation, competing in unison to plunge The Crusader's Marches, and soon the World of Erund, into elemental chaos. At the center of it all, is the sleepy town of Red Larch. Your party has just arrived here, whether by circumstance or planning, you'll be swept up into saving The Crusader's Marches from the machinations of The Elemental Evil. In this adventure, you'll: ✨ Explore dangerous ruins of an age bygone ✨ Take on four elemental cults in whatever order you wish ✨ Explore an expansive mega-dungeon ✨ Build your own bastion to strike out from (Using 2024 Ruleset) ✨ Take on classic D&D monsters and creatures

About me

Hello weary traveler! So, looking for a new Dungeon Master, eh? Well then allow me to introduce… myself. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I was thirteen, as the human prince fighter. Give me a break, I was thirteen and we didn't have the right books to actually run a successful campaign. A year later, when we’d finally managed to piece together what we had done wrong, I had already discovered that I was more interested in building worlds, raising villains, to crafting collaborative stories upon strong connections to a fantastic world and the inhabitants along with my players, and I also rather enjoyed doing the silly voices. And so I took to becoming my group of friends’ forever DM. Over the past nineteen years, I’ve continued to play the most widely known system, continuing to this day to spend all my hard-earned wages on 5E supplements, dice, miniatures, and paint. I have also branched out into other systems like Monster of the Week, Uncharted Worlds, Demigods, Kids on Bikes, Wanderhome, Monsterhearts, The Sprawl, and, honestly, we could sit here for hours and I’d probably remember playing a system you’d vaguely heard of and have a fun story about it. Yet, somehow, I always end up running a Dungeons and Dragons game. And that's fine by me. Over the last seven years, I've transitioned to mostly online games over Roll20, where I've completed six campaigns and countless one-shots.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created during our Session Zero on D&D Beyond, under our campaign. Characters will start at 1st level. Players should not have a character pre-made, but should have some concepts ahead of time. All characters are subject to being rejected if they do not meet character building guidelines or do not fit the setting. Note: This game's Homebrew setting features character race restrictions and will not use UA or non-WotC unofficial classes. For more information about the setting please copy this link to our constantly updating OneNote. Link: https://1drv.ms/o/s!AgIUvFez8ZSjfMdqdV1CycKWrqE?e=QuxMCT

The current party

Our Level 6 Party Currently Consists of: - Barazin "Grim" Grimfield; a stout halfling Battlemaster Fighter/rouge - Elenwe; a half elf College of Lore Bard/Storm Sorcerer - Nukaa Liennai; a changeling Circle of the Moon Druid/Path of the Totem Warrior Barbarian Please read our Primer for additional setting information:

What Scott brings to the table

Gameplay will take place on Roll20 with a Discord Server being used to handle voice chat. While character creation and planning can be done via D&D Beyond, players will need to use Roll20's character sheets because of homebrew campaign setting additions. This campaign will be as character choice-driven as I can make it, with some clear expectations of engagement with the main branching storyline. There will be multiple downtime opportunities, dungeons to explore, characters and NPCs to befriend and socialize with, and a party you'll be expected to work with. - Digital Maps, either through the official module, supported artists via Patreon, or handmade myself through Dungeon Draft - Challenging Combat with smart enemies that sometimes feature alternate win conditions or objectives beyond smacking each other around - Most of the D&D 5e Sourcebooks are offered via D&D Beyond, with some source material option exclusions.

Safety

How Scott creates a safe table

When joining the server, you'll be assigned a role with a private channel to communicate with me. You'll be sent a copy of the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to fill out. I may have non-invasive questions to follow up on or assurances that I will not include any of your triggering content in the game, as long as it is not mentioned in our Content Warnings. A set of Digital X, N, & O Cards will be available on our VTT at all times. We will take a 10-minute break near the mid-point of our session to stretch our legs and breathe. We'll have a 10-minute end-game session, to handle aftercare, and discuss developing character bonds and anything we enjoyed about the session. A Stars and Wishes form link will be sent to the group after each arc in the campaign. Please note this game is LGBTQIA+ Friendly
