Stolen Fate: Twin Destinies of the Starlit Sentinel, Ignite!
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
"Stop right there, thief of destiny! In the name of the zodiac and our free will, I'll capture your cards and seal your fate! Shining Starlight Unerring Arrow!" In the far reaches of the multiverse, someone shuffles a deck, and lays out the first spread in a reading that will seal fate forever. In doing so, prophecy will live again... and the free will of all will die, subjugated under those who hold the cards. Forces unforeseen have scattered these cards all across the world, to be discovered among places and people touched by their own destiny. People like you, who know that destiny is to be seized. You grew up captivated by tales of bygone heroes–ordinary people who made a wish upon a zodiac star, and who answered its call when it made them their emissaries: "Starlit Sentinels." They would live among their precious homes and loved ones by day, then transform into and protect those same communities under the light of the stars. You've followed their agents' examples, carving out a heroic destiny of your own as you've made your way in the world. And now, a card of destiny floats into your possession, twinkling with a trinket of captured starlight. Perhaps your greatest wish has been granted, after all... 💫 Assume a magical whatever-you-identify-as alter ego! 👿 Shower hideous monsters in cleansing starlight! 🫶 Draw strength from your relationships! ♥️ Nudge the cards of fate in your favor! ⚖️ Balance conflicting fates and lives! 🗺️ Make your mark across the world!

Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare
For the best experience at my table, you'll need: ◆ Familiarity with the Player's Guide (https://downloads.paizo.com/StolenFatePlayersGuide.pdf) ◆ A desktop or laptop computer ◆ A Discord account ◆ A microphone I also recommend: ◆ A mouse and discrete graphics card ◆ Headphones or earbuds ◆ A premium account on Pathbuilder (https://pathbuilder2e.com/) ◆ A video camera
What I provide
In my rendition of "Stolen Fate", you can look forward to: ✨ Star Power: In addition to combining the power of two of your favorite classes, all players will get to combine the destiny-forging power of the harrow with the emotion-fueled power of the Starlit Sentinel archetype. Like your favorite magical girls, you'll draw strength from two worlds... and you'll have to balance both of them to prevail. 🫂 Strength in Togetherness: As you forge bonds with your teammates and the people from all around the world that you protect, you'll gain access to expanded Starlit Sentinel feats tailored to your specific zodiac and the relationships you forge. But be warned... protecting them may mean keeping your true identity a secret. 🌟 Immersion: Enjoy a premium VTT experience with sophisticated automation, varied soundtracks, and an extensive library of assets. You'll experience original and player-driven expansions to the adventure, presented with a professional polish that matches published content.
Gameplay details
Stolen Fate presents action and adventure that abides by the Pathfinder Baseline guidelines set forth in Player Core (https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=488), with an emphasis on fighting fiends. Players may also want to use the game's magical girl aesthetics as a foundation for exploring some of that genre's signature themes: relationships, coming of age, contested visions of womanhood, the tension between responsibility and desire, and so on. To give the table the freest hand to explore these themes comfortably, I require that all player characters be of at least young adult age for their ancestry. If you're new to one of my tables, be sure to fill out my entrance survey (accessible through preparation materials), so that the table can account for your lines and veils in advance.

How will character creation work
Create a character of level and wealth matching the party. Variant Rules: ◆ Dual-Class PCs (gain the features and training of two classes) ◆ Free Archetype (gain an extra archetype feat at even levels). ◆ Gradual Ability Boost (boost an attribute at most levels, rather than several at once at levels 5/10/15/20). Subsystems: ◆ Relics (https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=3248 and https://2e.aonprd.com/Relics.aspx). Each player designs a transformation trinket of Light bulk for their character in collaboration with the GM, connected to their dual identity as themselves and as an agent of the zodiac. This trinket then becomes imbued with the power of a relic. Uncommon/Rare Option Access: ◆ All options from the Player's Guide (https://downloads.paizo.com/StolenFatePlayersGuide.pdf) ◆ The Exemplar, Gunslinger, and Inventor classes, and their multiclass archetypes ◆ All uncommon options from "Lost Omens: Tian Xia Character Guide" ◆ All other uncommon options from any region in Tian Xia ◆ Uncommon options with a strong association with the character's zodiac sign (see Tian Xia Character Guide 21-23); ask the GM ◆ Your choice of: ⋄⋄ One uncommon/rare ancestry or versatile heritage ⋄⋄ One uncommon/rare archetype ⋄⋄ All uncommon options from one chosen organization or home region ◆ Others with GM approval, typically because they fit the character's fiction Prohibited Character Options: ◆ Options that have the unholy trait or grant a character that trait ◆ Spoiler-marked options from "Stolen Fate" ◆ Options prohibited on a case-by-case basis for breaking genre or causing problematic play patterns. In some cases, the GM can provide a more suitable replacement. Special Notes: All characters gain "Starlit Sentinel Dedication" as a bonus feat at level 11, making them an agent of a particular member of the Dragon Empires Zodiac. Each character must be an agent of a different zodiac sign. Through this, they'll gain access to uncommon character options with certain traits that have an affinity with their zodiac sign, as well as custom high-level feats for the Starlit Sentinel archetype specific to their zodiac sign. Third-Party Character Options: In addition to Paizo-published character options, the GM has access to a selection of third-party character options: ◆ Paizo playtest materials for upcoming source books ◆ Lore-appropriate options from Starfinder 2E ◆ Ancestries from Roll for Combat's Battlezoo line of third-party sourcebooks So long as there is unanimous agreement from all players to introduce this material, the GM will make it available upon request. Check the adventure's recruiting notes for information on which third-party materials, if any, the table is using.
