Hunter x Hunter

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Embark on an epic weekly D&D campaign inspired by the beloved anime Hunter x Hunter! Set in a vibrant, mysterious world filled with danger, wonder, and opportunities for greatness, you and your fellow adventurers will undertake the legendary Hunter Exams, a grueling test of strength, intellect, and cunning. Those who succeed will join the ranks of the elite-licensed Hunters with access to exclusive resources, knowledge, and untold riches. But beware: the path is fraught with rivals, perilous environments, and moral dilemmas that will challenge not just your skills but your very principles. I have tried to keep the campaign and world as close to Togashi's vision of his world as possible. I intend for this campaign to go quite far after the exams, depending on how those turn out. Campaign Highlights: A Hunter Exams Arc: The campaign kicks off with the Hunter Exams, a multi-stage gauntlet featuring survival challenges, combat trials, mind-bending puzzles, and more. Player-Driven Narratives: Your character’s unique goals, ambitions, and backstories will shape the story. Whether you seek power, fame, revenge, or discovery, the world will respond to your choices. Dynamic Nen System: Develop unique, Nen-inspired abilities with custom rules for creating personalized powers and restrictions, ensuring every character feels distinct and impactful. Tactical and Creative Combat: Encounters will reward strategy and ingenuity. Use the environment, plan ahead, and exploit enemy weaknesses to emerge victorious. Moral Complexity: Navigate alliances, rivalries, and ethical dilemmas. Will you uphold your ideals, or sacrifice them for survival? This campaign is perfect for: Fans of Hunter x Hunter who want to dive into a similar world. Players who enjoy tactical combat and strategic roleplay. Those who love character-driven stories and moral dilemmas. Creative thinkers who want to develop unique abilities and strategies.

Grim is a great storyteller and always builds very immersive worlds. He is always open to listening to what you want to do with your character and comes up with ways to help you achieve it. He always has a good atmosphere at his tables and has a very good balance of combat and roll play. His maps and visuals are always very good, to increase the player experience. I always enjoy the sessions.

I have had a great time in Grim's homebrew campaign. He's sets the scene brilliantly to immerse you into his expansive world. Great combat encounters with background music to really get you into it.

Eric is a great story teller, who crafts vast and interesting worlds to explore. Although there is a great main plot to follow, our party often went off road to explore different avenues, much to our delight and often at risk of death! Encounters had weight and it always felt like our actions had a real impact on the world around us. 10/10 would recommend.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created in Session 0 (should you miss this please organize a 1 on 1 session to create your character). Characters creation will happen on D&D Beyond and then I will input these into Foundry. Stats will work on a point buy system. Session 0 is highly recommended for players to develop characters, craft back stories that can be integrated into the game, and connect the different characters should players wish. We will start at level 3
