About the adventure
Classic fantasy roleplaying for all ages in the Lands of Caldrona. Start out as a simple adventurer on quests of danger and discovery in the lands of Ere. Join an adventuring party and explore the lands around Wyvern's Landing and beyond as mysterious secrets hidden across the world are gradually revealed by your hands. Grow in renown and reputation as your growing wealth, experience and ambition lead you to build guildhalls and forts, recapture and rebuild old towers, strongholds and dungeons, and to help or hinder the children of the Ere Danaan refugees as they return to the Lost Lands of Ere. Visit castles in the clouds, wander the lands of the Otherworld, traverse the planes of water, fire, air, earth and iron, launch a marine expedition into inner sea to visit the Isles of Nil, or scale the rim of the world and stand on the edge of the void. May the Fates of Caldrona bring you good fortune.

About me
As a pro GM I have identity issues. So many identities, so many issues. In every day life I have issues too, but they are few. I am a father and a husband. I love my family, our little twig of a branch of an old highland clan. My family is multicultural, with me being raised in New Zealand, and my wife growing up in Cambodia. We live in Siem Reap with our three children. Our lives have come together and intertwined and we are blessed. I love stories and conversation. I take time to dream. I live a simple life with games and stories being my source of entertainment and connection with the people around me. Everyone has a story to tell, and anyone can bond through playing games. With a background in hospitality, tourism and community work, I will endeavor to make sure you are well cared for while I throw hell and highwater at your characters. It won't seem like it as an ogre cooks your pet or a dragon burns your companion to a crisp, but I do so with love and the hope for a fun escape from our varied daily lives that can still have a meaningful resonance in our thoughts. I've seen mayhem and magic, triumph and loss and even unexpected moments of depth and emotional gravitas at game tables I've hosted. It is my hope that this site will give me the opportunity to run games for players who embrace a spirit of cooperation and a willingness to push through adversity together in any number of weird and wonderful ways.

Creating your character
Character Creation is done during a free "session zero" prior to all regular game sessions. It should take 20-30 minutes, then a bit longer for equipment and shopping. Once you know what to do, it will take 5-10 minutes to roll up back up characters. Character sheets are shared on Google Drive so they can be accessed online during games. A copy of the sheet is also in the quickstart guide. It is handy to have the ability to fill these in Google, Adobe or other PDF reader, but at a pinch they can be printed on paper, and a photo of the sheet shared. All new player characters start at level one, even if adventuring with more experienced party members. Small beginnings can lead to great things! In the event of character death, players may roll up a new character beginning with half of their previous characters XP. The deeds of the dead will be held in accord to the actions they took in life. Be they heroic or otherwise.
A fun frolic over the fields, forests and hill country of Ere Danaan, as the adventurers unravel the ancient curse underlying the holdfasts of the giantkin and explore the forest of Weirwood and the ruins around the lands of Wyvern's Landing. This game is a continuation of an introductory adventure campaign and is open to new players. It is timed to run 7pm time in New Zealand, and although open to anyone, is aimed at getting Kiwis roleplaying with Doomy Mac online. New players are welcome to join the roster of adventurers taking part in this long term campaign. It supports both short term dungeon delving and exploring, as well as long term roleplaying and homestead/domain development play. Retired characters will join the long list of NPC's residing in the lands of Ere Danaan. Get in touch with Doomy Mac to find out more.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need to join Deathray & Dragonbreath discord channel. Make email contact so game documents and attachments can be shared on Google drive. A computer, tablet or phone with microphone & headset. Camera is optional, I only use it when playing theatre of the mind. A pencil, paper and some dice. Journal or notebook is handy. Read a copy of the free quick start rules and campaign primer. Take part in a session zero and make a character (Session 0's can be run one hour prior to start of game if a new player is joining an existing group.) I keep pretty regular hours in my "online D&D studio", and can be available to guide people through the learning process in person. Feel free to get in touch if you need a hand. I'm happy to help.
