About me

Oh, hello there! I see that you're looking for an adventure. You'll need a guide of course, and I'd be happy to show you the way! I'm Daniel, and I've been running all manner of roleplaying games for new and experienced players for over 5 years now. After starting with D&D 5e, I've explored many other ttrpgs and am eager to run any that I can get my hands on. I've introduced many folks to new ttrpg systems over the years, and have experience with guiding new players through these systems. I also have a passion for stories, and I believe that the atmosphere and mechanics of a game can greatly contribute to the story being told. This combination of system experience and passion for narrative creates a flexibility to craft the perfect game just for you! My table is LGBTQIA+ friendly, beginner friendly, and just plain friendly. All are welcome no matter who you are and no matter your level of experience!

I've been playing with Daniel for over a year. We've played Monster of the Week and Mothership, and we are currently playing Blades in the Dark. I was a beginner to all of them, and Daniel made it extremely easy to understand the rules and get right into playing. We always make great stories, and Daniel really engages in collaborative worldbuilding with the players, so it always feels like we are all telling a story together. He also always makes sure we all get time in the spotlight. I can't recommend him enough.

When I began with Daniel I had never played Monster of the Week and it seemed difficult to get into. Within the first session I felt very comfortable and prepared to play. Ever since I've had a blast every session. The world Daniel has built has been fun and engaging and it seems like he is always ready to divert the story if we take it into a different direction. I never feel like we are on rails or are being pushed into something, everything feels natural.

I have been playing with Daniel for a couple of sessions, and I am really enjoying the game. He is open to allowing really different and interesting characters that allow for the exploration of topics that matter to the world he has built as well as what the player cares about. I find myself looking forward to this game every week we play.

Daniel D creates a really relaxed and enjoyable space. He communicates well and joes a great job involving everyone. He is friendly and encouraging to new players, and it’s obvious he really cares about the experience his players have.

I absolutely loved the collaborative storytelling approach Daniel used in our Monster of the Week game. The MotW systems is built for this style, but Daniel really made it shine. His manner of running a game led to a level of respectful co-creation I have never before witnessed in a first-time-together group in my thirty years of roleplaying.

Character creation
Creating your character

Players are able to either choose pre-generated characters available within the Roll20 as handouts, or players can create their own characters via the free Mothership Companion App. Characters can be created very quickly in the app, and would only take around 2 minutes.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Players are required to have a working microphone, however while a webcam is encouraged it is not required. A Roll20 account (free) is also required to access the Virtual Table Top. While not required, downloading the Mothership Companion App (also free) allows players to quickly create their own character and manage their own character sheet, as well as keep the character for the future for any Mothership games!

What Daniel D brings to the table

I will be providing the Virtual Table Top via Roll20, as well as pregenerated characters for those who do not wish to create a character within the free Mothership Companion App. Background music and high-level maps will also be provided via Roll20.

Platforms used
Safety
How Daniel D creates a safe table

There will be a Lines and Veils document within the Roll20 Virtual Tabletop that is editable by all players. These can be filled out ahead of time or at the start of the session. The Roll20 safety deck will be available to players, and its use will be explained at the start of the session. This will also be an open table, and players can step away whenever they like. At the end of the session, we will discuss how the session went, high and low points, etc.
