About the adventure

Every time you leave home, Another road takes you Into a world you were never in... - John O'Donohue, "For the Traveler" ☄️🌟👁️ -- The multiverse is collapsing. This world sits tangentially to a multitude of others, bisecting in parallel to dream worlds of our fantasies, advanced planetary hegemonies beyond our galaxy, and histories that never were and never will be. For better or worse, you are enabled to step sideways into realities most people remain unaware of. You may do this for a variety of reasons: seeking wealth, power, or escape; under the orders of a government or corporate entity; to fulfill a promise. But monstrous creatures at the edges of reality, ones with salivating grins made of event horizons, approach our world with an intent to devour. The final days are not coming: they are here. And at the beating heart of all reality, a library opens its doors and sends its scholars out in mission: Document. Preserve. Restore.

About me

I'm adjusted. 🤙 For me, games are all about making connections and sharing amazing experiences with cool people. I got into playing because I loved the idea of diving into different worlds and hanging out with folks I looked up to. Now, I want to run games that give new players an experience so epic it feels like it should be in a storybook. I want you to see your character come to life—whether they’re navigating intense negotiations, clashing in wild battles with swords and magic, or finding those softer moments of laughter, love, or even loss. Let's create your story together.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will use Trello for character creation during Session Zero as a collaborative process, as well as Discord voice and text chats to discuss potential aspects of both characters and worlds alike. Please feel free to use the free Fate SRD as found online at https://fate-srd.com/ ! 🔗

What to expect

Preparing for the session

🎤 Decent mic for voice chat 👾 Discord account (free to register!) 🗂️ Trello account (also free to start!) 🎭 Character concepts (the more the merrier!) ✨ A sense of wonder at the larger multiverse

What Maggie Mae brings to the table

Safety

How Maggie Mae creates a safe table

🛠️ SAFETY TOOLS Let's talk about safety. We will be employing a number of safety tools to keep ourselves and the table around us comfortable, even as we stretch our imaginations. Remember: people are more important than any game. 0️⃣ Session Zero: we will meet and greet for the first session and go over as a group the dynamics we would like to have between our characters, the organizations we would like to avoid or include in gameplay, as well as discuss potential world-hopping wish-lists. Players can also expect to do character creation during this session, as well as a bit of world-building as it relates to their character's perspective. We also establish the table's limits on content and tone, giving a general overview of what is acceptable at the table and what will not be tolerated. 📐 Lines and Veils: the very baseline of our safety tools. It's not possible to determine/know every possible trigger in advance, but it is possible to prevent feelings of unsafety and traumatizing emotions by simply asking what types of content to avoid at the table. Lines are hard stops that will never be included, whereas veils are soft limits that can be mentioned, if not described, and usually result in a "fade-to-black." ❌ ❓ ⭕: X, N, and O cards, as depicted by emoji to the left. Please, please feel free to either publicly let the group know in the Discord voice channel text, or privately to me as a personal message, how you are feeling about the content to that we may respond in real time. You don't have to explain yourself. Just send along an ❌ if you want to hard-stop what is happening, a ❓ if you wish to begin fading to black, or an ⭕ if you want the content to continue. 🚪 Open Door policy: if you, the player, need to leave, whether permanently or temporarily, that is okay. I would ask, as a personal favor, that you reach out to me in order to debrief, hopefully without triggering further trauma, to go over what I could have done better in crafting the experience for you. 💭 Breaks: we will be taking them regularly, roughly 15 minutes for every one (1) hour. Even if you think you are fine emotionally and mentally with content, we really shouldn't be sitting and staring at screens for so long. Everyone gets a chance to bio, get some water or snacks, and otherwise decompress for a bit. 🌟 Stars and Wishes: after gameplay, I'll be happy to receive feedback regarding your experience! If you were to let your friends, a family member, or your doppelganger (non-evil!) play this game, what would you recommend I change? What would you keep the same?
