About the adventure
FORBIDDEN LANDS Forbidden Lands is a new take on classic fantasy roleplaying. In this sandbox survival roleplaying game, you’re not heroes sent on missions dictated by others – instead, you are raiders and rogues bent on making your own mark on a cursed world. You will discover lost tombs, fight terrible monsters, wander the wild lands, and if you live long enough, build your own stronghold to defend. An old-school, brutal, open-sandbox RPG that's a lot like DnD back in the day but with way better survival mechanics. You will need to be creative and think your way around violence because the world is violent and unfair. Your reputation will grow, so choose carefully what deeds you become known for. You will be the treasure hunters caught in the middle of a massive, over-arching plot between characters with separate, private agendas. SCAVENGE for food, water, shelter and treasures as you survive in the wilderness TRAVEL across a SANDBOX map full of random NPCs and unique, well-written encounters DELVE into forgotten castles and dungeons without counting tiles Character creation is extremely simple and we'll take care of over Discord! Let's actually explore and live in a fantasy realm without the rules holding us back. NO EXPERIENCE required! We will be playing through a dungeon and some travel mechanics to familiarize yourself with the rules of the system, and see if you're interested in playing long-term campaign Raven's Purge!

About me
Do you want to try a new RPG system? Do you want someone to TEACH you the rules? Do you want roleplay and explored character stories? You have absolutely come to the right place. I've been playing RPGs for over a decade. I believe these games have a magic escapism that no movie, game or book can provide. I have a background in Theater and I always strive to bring my performing experience to the games I run. As a GM I offer you: -Plot where Player Characters matter: I make sure my player characters feel like their character's personal story gets attention. -FUN over RULES: I care about rules, but I care so much more about telling a cool story and having a fun game. -Acceptance of ALL POC/genders/sexualities: My games are open to all genders, sexualities and people of color and have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry.

Edwin led us through an excellent old school dungeon crawl that was a fun introduction to the gritty "flavor over mechanic" style of Mork Borg. I would highly recommend that you give it (and him) a try....just don't grow too attached to your character as it can get pretty grim down in that dungeon!

Edwin is a friendly and charismatic GM with a theatrical flair. He's encouraging of roleplay but doesn't pressure players to go outside of their comfort zone, and creates a inviting space for veteran and new players alike.

We played Vaesen and Edwin did an awesome job. We had been looking for a longer term game and once we did the first game with him we signed on for more right away. I would 100% suggest you play a game with him. He did voices, was able to run it smoothly and give us lots of freedom to still do what we want while keeping us on track. He sent us a package at the start with what we needed to do to get setup and knew the system to teach to us. Price for game was also good! 10/10

It's been our first time playing Alien, and Edwin has been great at being patient with us and teaching us the game while enabling us to have lots of fun and utilize our general roleplaying and problem-solving skills to this arena. He's great!

Wow my group of six has been gaming together for over 20 years with one of us serving as the GM. We finally all decided we wanted to play together as a group and found Edwin on Startplaying.games and it's been awesome. Ed is organized, prepared, adaptable, and a great teacher.
