About the adventure
Welcome Adventurers! This is a Classic Rise of the Runelords Adventure! What does “Classic” mean? Well, it means we only use things that existed when the Anniversary Edition was released (specifically content the Runelords AP makes use of (see list below)), thus challenging new and veteran players to hone their skills and avoid content bloat! Think a similar idea to MMOs like Classic Everquest or Classic World of Warcraft. Rise of the Runelords is a very “classic” adventure, as it takes you across the vast region of Varisia, one of Golarion’s most prominent locations. Within you will fight familiar monsters, from Goblins to Dragons, as well as rare, unheard-of horrors, those of which I dare not mutter! Plot Hook: From the idyllically peaceful coastal town of Sandpoint to an ancient lost city at the top of the world, Rise of the Runelords takes a party of adventurers from 1st to over 18th level and delves into the mysteries of Varisia's ancient past. Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic Runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. Thought gone forever, the workings of Thassilon are not so far beneath the surface and one of the Runelords plans a return to power. Only the brave adventurers stand in their way. Now, why the limits? Well, easy really: This adventure becomes VERY easy when you allow much of the later released material, as it was not written to challenge the power that was later created. I have run this AP from start to finish 6 times. I have also completed it as a player twice, so I know the story and encounters well. When I first played it, the game was fresh and a great challenge. Sometimes we died, more often we survived and had a hell of a time doing so! When I allow later released content, challenges quickly disappear and players almost never experience “tension”, just easy wins, which clearly hurts the overall feeling of a grand adventure. Whilst this game will bring challenge, possible player death, it will certainly bring glory, a need to THINK as your character, and a bond amongst allies that is often overlooked when one person can so often rule combat. I ask you to join me and challenge yourselves to play this game “as intended”! Let’s have a blast whilst doing so. I would prefer those who have yet to play this AP join up, but know that previous experience will not exclude you, we will simply have to talk about how you will avoid metagaming, both in character and in prep.

About me
Hello All, I have a true love for the Pathfinder 1e system and world, so much so that I have made it my core game to run. I am passionate about these games and love seeing how they can bring together a group of people for a larger-than-life quest! I have been a DM since the days of D&D 3.5, starting in 2008. I moved over to Pathfinder soon after, making it my preferred system, as I found it to be a good fix to 3.5, as well as their release of amazing material. As a DM, I make it my personal goal to ensure that all players feel like they are part of the game. I prefer to play by RAW (Rules and Written), with flexibility to ensure enjoyability. As a teacher in the real world, I find great pleasure in helping newer players understand this game as well, so know that I am accepting of all sorts.

Creating your character
-In session 0, the party will come together to discuss class/race/roles, and then build a general idea from there. -I can then work 1-on-1 with any player that needs help to ensure that their character is statted correctly, geared smartly, and can move in the direction they envision. -I will support the filling of "roles" for this (but not make a hard enforcement) as a means of guiding the party of success!
Please remember that the goal will be to build a cohesive party together, so try to have an open mind to more than 1 character idea.
