About the adventure
The Gods are gone. Sealed away in the Astral Plane by Tanil, Deity of Magic, their divine influence no longer interferes with the Material Plane and the Weave, magic, is gone. In their absence, society turned to The Boundless Conclave- Fey-beings embodying the primal forces of nature, emotion, and magic. For centuries, these entities filled the void, guiding the lives of mortals and becoming objects of worship, and granting them access to a form of magic called The Song. Centuries have passed, but now, they too are dying. The second-to-last member of the Boundless Conclave has fallen, leaving the Material Plane on the edge of collapse. Magic falters, ancient cities decay, and the forces that once bound the world together have begun to unravel. Only one member of the Conclave remains; a fragile and fading presence, teetering between life and oblivion. With the world in decline, the fate of this last fey being could determine the future of the entire realm. You and your party have been drawn together by shared purpose and fate. As Songbound, you will face this crumbling world head-on. Whether your paths crossed by chance or design, survival demands more than strength and skill- it requires trust, loyalty, and vulnerability with your comrades. In the midst of dying faith and failing magic, your greatest asset is each other. Only through forming emotional connections will you stand a chance against the forces that seek to shape or destroy what remains of the Material Plane. The world is on the brink. Its future lies not only in your hands but in the strength of your bonds. In Twilight of the Boundless, you will: ✨ Form connections with your fellow Songbound ✨ Explore dangerous ruins of an age bygone ✨ Enact incredible moments of Heroics at a cost ✨ Survive in a world crumbling beneath your feet ✨ Battle a plethora of deadly creatures and fearsome foes ✨ Be part of a narrative spanning multiple in-game years ✨ Decide the fate of the world: Revive The Song or Start Anew ✨ Possibly cry

About me
Hello weary traveler! So, looking for a new Dungeon Master, eh? Well then allow me to introduce… myself. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I was thirteen, as the human prince fighter. Give me a break, I was thirteen and we didn't have the right books to actually run a successful campaign. A year later, when we’d finally managed to piece together what we had done wrong, I had already discovered that I was more interested in building worlds, raising villains, to crafting collaborative stories upon strong connections to a fantastic world and the inhabitants along with my players, and I also rather enjoyed doing the silly voices. And so I took to becoming my group of friends’ forever DM. Over the past nineteen years, I’ve continued to play the most widely known system, continuing to this day to spend all my hard-earned wages on 5E supplements, dice, miniatures, and paint. I have also branched out into other systems like Monster of the Week, Uncharted Worlds, Demigods, Kids on Bikes, Wanderhome, Monsterhearts, The Sprawl, and, honestly, we could sit here for hours and I’d probably remember playing a system you’d vaguely heard of and have a fun story about it. Yet, somehow, I always end up running a Dungeons and Dragons game. And that's fine by me. Over the last seven years, I've transitioned to mostly online games over Roll20, where I've completed six campaigns and countless one-shots.

Creating your character
Session Zero will be used to play a game of The Quiet Year, during which players will construct the campaign's story area and the starting settlement. Players will complete a survey between Session Zero and Session One to construct a dead Boundless and the culture and settlement built around them. Characters will be built, using this survey as their character's origin settlement. Characters will begin the adventure at Level 1. Characters will have additional build steps called "Archetypes" to add additional flavor to their abilities and fit into the campaign's framework as to who they are in relation to The Song. Players are encouraged to approach the DM for advice on creating their character. Session One will be used to introduce characters, tie them to one another, and begin our tale. Character Build Guidelines: - Point Buy - Species Restrictions based on Setting - Official Content for Classes - Some DM provided Third-Party Content - Homebrew Secondary Ability System called "Archetypes"
Our Party is Level 8 and consists of: - Zanril, Half-Drow Oath of Watchers Paladin - Brother Shogbob, Mountain Dwarf Spores Druid/Open Hand Monk - Claudius "Tully" Tullios Half-Elf Lore Bard/Bladesinger Wizard - Ekron, Tiefling Great Old One Warlock - Dagna, Hill Dwarf Champion Fighter (DM PC)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before Session Zero, players will need to do/have the following: 💻 - Join our Discord Server 🎲 - Join our Roll20 Game 🎙️ - Have a Decent, working microphone 🎥 - Webcam Optional but preferred 🎧 - Headphones required to reduce audio feedback 📕 - Some knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition 📓 - Read our Campaign Primer and One Note for Setting and Lore ✨ - Willingness to play in a mostly serious campaign
What Scott brings to the table
Gameplay will take place on Roll20 with a Discord Server being used to handle voice chat. While character creation and planning can be done via D&D Beyond, players will need to use Roll20's character sheets because of homebrew campaign setting additions. This campaign will be as character choice-driven as I can make it, with some clear expectations of engagement with the main branching storyline. There will be multiple downtime opportunities, dungeons to explore, characters and NPCs to befriend and socialize with, and a party you'll be expected to work with. - Digital Maps, either through supported artists via Patreon or handmade myself through Dungeon Draft - Challenging Combat with smart enemies that sometimes feature alternate win conditions or objectives beyond smacking each other around - Most of the D&D 5e Sourcebooks are offered via D&D Beyond, with some source material option exclusions. - Usage of "The Witch" class and "Citadel Wizard" subclass from Worlds Beyond Number - Ambient background music and combat music, via a discord bot and the audio interface within Roll20. - A wide range and repertoire of at least 5 funny voices.

How Scott creates a safe table
When joining the server, you'll be assigned a role with a private channel to communicate with me. You'll be sent a copy of the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to fill out. I may have non-invasive questions to follow up on or assurances that I will not include any of your triggering content in the game, as long as it is not mentioned in our Content Warnings. A set of Digital X, N, & O Cards will be available on our VTT at all times. We will take a 10-minute break near the mid-point of our session to stretch our legs and breathe. We'll have a 10-minute end-game session, to handle aftercare, and discuss developing character bonds and anything we enjoyed about the session. A Stars and Wishes form link will be sent to the group after each arc in the campaign. Please note this game is LGBTQIA+ Friendly
