About me

Hi, my name's Finn! After years of wanting to play D&D but being unable to find a DM, I decided to take the initiative(pun intended) and learn how to run 5e. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Since then I've run hundreds of games for several groups. I tend to run campaigns in my own homebrew worlds, building the narrative around the player's backstories and in-game choices. I absolutely love this game and can't wait to share it with someone as talented and imaginative as you!

Finished my first session last night and it was really fun. New to the game but GM was patient and available to answer any questions I had which made for a great environment. Will definitely continue with this GM. Cannibal Cult?

CHRONOLOGICAL REVIEW #3 - A Masterclass Of DMing Dated: February 2025 Update as of Session 100 of Homebrew campaign 3WLW, completion of Curse of Strahd (additional 52 sessions), and more: If there were a hall of fame for Dungeon Masters, Finn would undoubtedly be enshrined at its very center. Over the course of more than 100 sessions for his homebrew campaign, as well as the completion of the Curse of Strahd module (as well as the beginning of the Dungeons of Drakkenheim campaign), Finn has proven himself not just as a DM, but as a friend, storyteller, world-builder, and artist for an unforgettable tabletop experience. His campaigns are a masterpiece of creativity, emotional depth, and player-centric narrative, and it has left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to sit at his table. Finn’s world-building is nothing short of extraordinary. The world he has crafted for his homebrew campaign is vast, intricate, and alive, brimming with rich histories, cultures, and mysteries that unfold in ways that feel both organic and deeply intentional in each minute detail. Every city, region, and battle feels like it has a soul, and every NPC—whether a humble tavernkeeper or a scheming archhag—feels like they have their own story to tell. Finn’s ability to weave these elements into a cohesive, ever-evolving narrative is a testament to his tireless effort and boundless imagination. He doesn’t just create a setting; he creates a living, breathing world that players can’t help but invest in emotionally, and always encourages his players to help shape the world in which they play in. But what truly sets Finn apart is his storytelling. His campaigns are a perfect blend of high-stakes drama, heart-wrenching emotion, and pulse-pounding action (for us, this equals about 75% role-play and 25% combat, but this is subject to change based on the player's wishes). He has an uncanny ability to craft stories that resonate deeply with both the characters and the players behind them. Whether it’s a tragic revelation, a hard-fought victory, or a moment of quiet reflection, Finn’s narratives are always intensely engaging and profoundly impactful. He understands the power of consequences, ensuring that every decision—big or small—feels meaningful. This creates a sense of stakes and immersion that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats, session after session. Finn’s dedication to his players is unparalleled. He goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone at the table feels seen, heard, and valued. He takes the time to understand not just our characters, but us as people, tailoring the campaign to our interests, strengths, and boundaries. His considerate and accommodating nature fosters an environment of trust and respect, where everyone feels safe to explore, take risks, and grow both through their character as well as even in our personal lives. Finn is always attuned to the emotional well-being of his players, skillfully navigating sensitive topics and ensuring that the game remains a source of joy and connection for everyone at all times. And let’s not forget Finn’s incredible voice work. His ability to bring NPCs to life is nothing short of astounding. From grizzled dwarven warriors, to cunning, silver-tongued diplomats, Finn effortlessly slips into a myriad of voices, each one distinct and brimming with personality. He doesn’t just speak for these characters—he embodies them, infusing every word with emotion, intention, and nuance. Whether it’s a heartfelt conversation with a beloved ally or a chilling monologue from a villain, Finn’s performances are so captivating that they often leave us forgetting we’re sitting at a table and not sitting at a live theatre. His voice work adds an unparalleled layer of immersion to the game, making every interaction feel real and meaningful. Finn’s artistic talent further elevates every campaign to new heights. His custom maps and environments are works of art in their own right, meticulously crafted to enhance the storytelling and gameplay experience. Whether it’s a sprawling cityscape, a treacherous mountain pass, or a horrific dungeon, Finn’s maps are not just functional—they are breathtaking. His attention to detail is staggering. The way he uses color, texture, and design to evoke mood and atmosphere is nothing short of professional. And I cannot accurately count how many times everyone at the table has asked "Is there a map!?" when entering a new place just so we can see what the next thing Finn has in store for us may yet hold. What’s more, Finn’s adaptability is nothing short of ingenious. No matter how far we stray from the expected path (and trust me, we’ve strayed lol), Finn effortlessly adjusts, weaving our choices into the fabric of the story in ways that feel seamless and rewarding. His improvisational skills are second to none, and his ability to think on his feet ensures that the campaign always feels fresh, dynamic, and full of surprises. Finn is more than a Dungeon Master; he is the mastermind of unforgettable experiences, a curator of our collective imaginations, and a true friend to everyone at the table. His passion, creativity, and unwavering care have made this campaign not just a game, but a shared journey that we will cherish for years to come. If you ever have the chance to play at Finn’s table, jump at it, I promise you won't regret it. He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest DMs to ever roll a d20. Here’s to 100 more sessions—and beyond!!! ========================================= CHRONOLOGICAL REVIEW #1 November 2022, Session 3 of Homebrew campaign 3WLW: Absolutely amazing DM who is very supportive and open with his players. Session 0 thoroughly reviewed what the game would entail and everyone’s comfort levels, then had a wonderfully complex yet fitting world-building discussion. The world is full of complex and creative NPCs that are voiced uniquely and distinctly, that are all fun to interact with. No narrative PC choice feels “punishing” but rather are used as a narrative device. Working cohesively with your group and the DM makes for such a fun experience, and I’m so glad that I was able to join the campaign! ========================================= CHRONOLOGICAL REVIEW #2 2023 Update, as of Session 28 of Homebrew campaign 3WLW: Finn is simply the single best DM I’ve ever had the absolute pleasure of being able to play on a table with. The world of “3 Witches and the Lich’s Wish” is so vastly rich and expansive, with it being on par with the most acclaimed of fantasy settings and stories. All the NPCs are so tangibly real and complex, with them all just radiating with their own unique personalities and quirks that beg the players to learn more about them and engage with them accordingly. The twists and narrative will have you at the edge of your seat at every realization, and will enthrall you no end. Escapism and storytelling at its finest. There are no wrong decisions; no player choice made with care is punishing; everything will lead you to a satisfying outcome. Finn is a masterclass of weaving player decisions into his web of a complex story. And don’t let the potential complexity of the story overwhelm you. Though the story becomes complex, it is clean and sharp in its clear vision, and is very easy to follow along with. And if you have any questions, Finn is always welcome to answer any questions you have in a way that is helpful, respectful, and informative, whether it be regarding the story or game-mechanics. An amazing person and GM all-around. The game has always felt incredibly safe and inclusive. All of the safety tools that were used in Session 0 have absolutely stood firm, with everyone’s comfort and confidence held in the highest possible respects the entire time without it have any noticeable effect within the game. And if you did have any later concerns, again, Finn is always willing to help as soon as he is able. The game is fun, but it’s truly the people that make it great. And without continuing to express endless praises for how much I truly love this AMAZING campaign so far, and how it has so captured my near-every waking thought, all I can further say is to try out this campaign or any of Finn’s games that you can. It brings so much genuine joy, even when not actively playing, that it simply should not be passed over. It is purely the best that all DnD could ever hope to offer, both above-table and “beyond”. Happy adventuring, and be wary of the Bleakwoods ;) ========================= Cannibal Cult?

Finn is an awesome GM. They’re super patient when it comes to learning the game as a new player and I love how rich the story telling is. Just started a campaign and I can’t wait to see where it goes Update: It's been about 2.5 years since I started playing with Finn and it just has gotten better as time has passed. I have completed 2 Curse of Strahd campaigns and finished his homebrew setting of Three Witches and the Lich's Wish, it's so easy to get lost in his world building and story telling. Each NPC has a story to tell and is fully fleshed out whether you love them or hate them. Outside of game he is also an incredible friend, I have finally become comfortable enough to DM my own game and I couldn't have done it without his guidance. The community I've found within the table I play with every week and with players that play in his games is better than words can describe. Coming to his game gives you the opportunity to find a great community, dive into the incredible world he creates whether it's homebrew or he puts his own twist on a module and he loves to see what you can come up with as a player and uses every part of your backstory.

About 10 sessions in now and this campaign is going pretty hard in the paint. Blowing up the discord with theories and memes. We may have delved too deep. This is how you DnD folks. Give one of his campaigns a go, doubt you'll be disappointed. Let me set off a radiant nuke using an improvised molotov and a guiding bolt to kill a face stealing shadow monster. 10/10. Would enter the creepy church again.
