Outlaws of Alkenstar (Rewritten + Homebrew Content!)
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
The dwarven woman, Foebe Dunsmith, hops off the bar onto the sawdust-covered floor and heads to a back room, where a round table and private bar await. She props one foot up on a stool, leans forward on her knee, and casts a suspicious eye around the room. 'Now that the show is over, let’s talk business. I brought you all here because we share some common enemies. With your help, I can make them pay—and get you rich in the process.' 'Here’s the game,' Dunsmith says. 'Ambrost Mugland has adecent portion of his funds invested in an old bank called the Gold Tank Reserve. It’s a rundown temple of Abadar in Ironside Quarter that’s mostly used by ranchers and crooked politicians. I happen to know they’ve sent half their clockwork handlers out for maintenance and won’t have them back until tomorrow afternoon. This is our chance to hit Mugland where it hurts. All you have to do is bust up the few clockworks remaining, get the vault key from the bank manager, and fill a sack with gold. Once you’re done inside the bank, run out the back. Any questions?' ---------- In "Outlaws of Alkenstar", players assume the roles of renegade outlaws united under the banner of a shared grudge. To exact revenge on the despicable mogul and corrupt cop who destroyed their lives, the party must hotfoot around the grime-caked streets of Alkenstar, the City of Smog. As they explore a vast city of clockwork menaces and explosive drama, the party will take down brass-clad constructs, blast through steel vaults, and harness their reputations as hardened rebels to save the day. These ragtag desperados will get their hands dirty in the oil-slicked alleyways and whisky-soaked saloons of the City of Smog. To achieve their revenge, these renegades must steal from the rich, take down crooked shieldmarshals, and aid a mysterious gunslinging patron. In a city where the clockwork guards are literally as tough as brass, these antiheroes will need true grit to dole out overdue justice. "Outlaws of Alkenstar" is an Adventure Path that carries the player characters from Level 1 up to Level 10 over the course of three volumes of high-stakes, high-action, and quite literally high-explosive clockwork adventures. Characters in "Outlaws of Alkenstar" have a unique opportunity to be much different than your average Golarion adventurer. You could be an unfairly defrocked cleric of the clockwork goddess Brigh, an outcast genius inventor framed for a crime that you didn't commit, or a gun-toting vigilante whose sense of justice got you on the bad side of the powerful and corrupt. ---------- Please note: I have partially rewritten this campaign in order to bring it more in line with what I feel like it is marketed as, that is to say, an outlaw story! Expect train heists, manor robberies, and more that wasn't in the original campaign! Additionally, I will be writing personalized homebrew content for each player character based on their backgrounds.
First player(s) may request a starting time change up to an hour or two in either direction.

Additional details
How to prepare
Players will need a relatively decent microphone, a relatively quiet place with as little background noise as possible, and a computer capable of loading Foundry through a web page. While this game is beginner-friendly, I do expect players to at least have read the rules ahead of time. You don't need to know the core rulebook inside and out, but please at least know what a Strike and a Stride are. Please have a character created by the start of the first session. I will be openly available before then to help you create your character and have it ready by the first session.
What I provide
I will bring the official Paizo module for Outlaws of Alkenstar, including maps, tokens, and sound assets. I will bring carefully curated music soundtracks to increase immersion. I will bring multiple premium Foundry modules and assets to enhance the play experience. I will bring years of acting, writing, and teaching experience.
Gameplay details
I will use informal safety tools but with a heavy emphasis that I am open and willing to talk about any issues that arise, and I will do my best to foster a safe and comfortable environment where people can easily do such. I will always show up before and remain after for at least 10 minutes every session in order that everyone has a chance to talk to me or other players about the game as needed. I will make myself available outside of the regular session hours as needed in order to handle any questions or other issues brought up by my players.

How will character creation work
Characters will start at level 1. I recommend using Pathbuilder to create your characters: https://pathbuilder2e.com/ Characters can use any uncommon or rare ancestries, classes, backgrounds, or other features as they wish. Characters will be created and advance in level with the Ancestry Paragon, Free Archetype, and Gradual Ability Boost rules: https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1297 Players can contact me if they need assistance making characters, and I will gladly set up an out-of-session meeting on voice chat to guide them through the process.
