After It Fell From The Sky | Dungeons of Drakkenheim | 2024 D&D
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
It fell from the sky and now nothing will ever be the same again. 15 years later, the civil war has abated and now some have turned their minds back to a capitol that was all but destroyed and what a few had found amongst the ruins. Now, different forces dream of fashioning new futures and are looking for those of courage and wits to return back from whence everyone else has fled. No one appears to have asked those denizens that lie within the city what they might think... There is still time for your Hero to join the Party on their latest mission into Drakkenheim! Session summaries are available for everyone to review and add their own notes to, creating an ongoing story of how your Hero helped to decide the fate of Drakkenheim. Current Party Goals: - Decide what to do with the holy relic they found in the Chapel crypt; - Search the eldritch city gardens for magical flowers that can aid with contamination; - Take control of the Watchtower within Emberwood village (potential Bastion); - Organise a meeting between the Silver Order and the Hooded Lanterns. Our current Brave Heroes are Level 5 and are: ๐ฎ Eneglin Sinclair, Elven Warlock; ๐๐ฝ Scyther, Aasimar Monk; ๐งโโ๏ธAlbert, Dwarven Apothecary; ๐๐ฝ Tristan, Barbarian; โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Glimm, Goblin Cleric. This campaign will be using the new D&D 5e 2024 Rules that will be made available to you as part of you playing this game. Upon completion of the campaign, Heroes will be a minimum level of 13th. Links to setting information and the D&D Beyond account for the game can be found via our Discord server, which will be shared with you during the signing up process.

Knows the Rules
Encourages and includes player character's stories into the campaign which aids in immerse the players. Sessions are run smoothly and the DM creates an environment where player's feel as if he is working with them to create a great story. NPCs are given their own unique voices which help differentiate them and the game allows for a lot of player agency.
I really enjoy Ego's campaign for its immersiveness and storytelling. The visual of Foundry are great. The combat encounters are challenging and demanding. The NPCs are memorable and feel alive. The DM provides all players with spotlight and ability to shine and roleplay. All you wish to have in DND campaign you'll find here. Strongly recommend.
This was my first time playing D&D online, and I was worried I wouldnโt enjoy it, but Ego has been fantastic. Heโs been incredibly helpful, making the experience both fun and engaging. He took extra time before and after the game to guide me through Foundryโs mechanics, ensuring I felt comfortable. Ego is great at working with players to create characters that fit both their vision and the setting, making the process fun and collaborative. During challenging combat encounters, he is willing to offer insightful suggestions without taking away player agency. His support has made my transition to online play smooth and enjoyable. Iโm excited to continue gaming with Ego and canโt wait to see where the adventure takes my character!
Wonderful Game Master. Utilizes excellent tools, voices, and seamlessly integrated my character into the overall story arc of the session. Ego is decisive and thorough with his descriptions and explanations. He balances teaching with story continuation with skill. I would recommend.

How to prepare
Players should โ source a microphone external to the speakers of their PC or Mac (I can recommend one if you need to source a reasonably priced one); โ have a PC or Mac that is capable of joining the Foundry VTT reliably; โ sign-up for a D&D Beyond account if you do not have one (it is free to do so); โ sign-up for a Discord account if you do not have one (it is free to do so); โ agree with the Group on who will take notes (I always advise it with any Campaign, even if they're just a set of key points); โ remember that this is a game; โ be clear with their expectations without being discourteous; โ see this as an opportunity to learn from one another as well as to teach.
What I provide
๐ I bring with me 40 years of experience as a GM. ๐ The games I run are generally immersive and story rich, with both film noir and horror influences. ๐ Combats are less frequent but often brutal affairs. NPCs will usually therefore assume you will role-play with them first (most don't want to die either). ๐ Those NPCs of significance will have some limited agency to respond to the Party's actions; this isn't a static environment. ๐ I am not a voice actor AND I will do as many voices as I can, particularly to NPCs of significance to help you gain a sense of them. ๐ Access to the Foundry VTT on which you will find all the rules you need as a player, along with all of the maps/tokens/audio required to run this Campaign; ๐ Access to the new 2024 D&D 5e Rules via D&D Beyond; ๐ A Discord server that will be used audio and text discussion; Heroes are forged in the white heat of adversity. In the beginning, you are nobodies. As the Campaign goes on, you slowly rise to meet the challenge that the Gods themselves have placed before you. I will cheer you on, but silently as the Gods are known to be jealous masters :)
Gameplay details
Prior to Session 0, an RPG Consent Form will be sent to all Players to complete. A Session 0 will be run before the Campaign starts and will last the length of a normal session. In the first part, we will have an open discussion on the different levels of player experience and on the themes explored by the published material. Where we can identify areas that might prove difficult for participants and how the other safety tools will be used to mitigate these and help player enjoyment in general. In the second part, we will as a group finalise your player characters and though I will help where required, this is an opportunity for players to collaborate and get to know each other little before we begin play.

How will character creation work
On our Discord server you will find a Player Guide that will highlight the process, any rule changes to be aware of, and links to source material I would recommend you try some of prior to play commencing. I will provide you with access to the new 2024 PHB rules for you to create your Heroes with (note that we will only be using 2024 Rules and options available within the Player Guide for this campaign). You can then bring any questions you may have to our Session 0 and we can address them openly in the Group. If there are further background refinements that you wish to cover, we can do so via the Discord server.
