About the adventure
💀 Few dare to tread in the Wild Wastes of Autumn, the lands where crops falter and monsters wander. 📖 Scholarly surveys uncovered precious little about why the lands fell into waste, so the mystery remains. 👹 The dangers of the blighted badlands and the trap-infested ruins prove too risky to send any more soft scholars. ⚔️ Thus, the powers that be have hand-picked YOU to delve into the ruins and solve the centuries-old mystery. 🏜️ So, gather your gear, meet your allies, and ride on to find out exactly... What Went Wrong in those Weird Wild Wastes? What can you expect in a typical session? 🤔 🎭 Captivating role-play with voiced NPCs 🐉 Epic and challenging combat scenarios 📘📕 A range of narrative choices and consequences 🎮 Premium 3D rendered scenes and animations This is a custom adventure with a wild-west/old-western flavour set in my homebrew world of Thaegrea. As such, even though there is an overarching story, there will be a higher emphasis on character-driven story plots, should you wish to pursue them. The campaign will run from level 5 to 10.

About me
Greetings, Adventurer! And welcome to my table! 🧙🏾 My love of fantasy began with Brian Jacques' Redwall series of books, a good 25 or so years ago. Then, I moved on to JRPG video games, such as Final Fantasy, and movies like The Lord of the Rings. Now, thanks to this line of work, I get to tell my own fantasy stories! 🎲 I have been rolling dice and telling stories with my friends and family, and as part of a local gaming club for over a decade now, particularly after playing the 4E era board games and watching a ton of Critical Role to help stay sane during my PhD studies. 🛠️ I enjoy tinkering with game design, world-building, voice impressions and digital tools to create immersive and fun experiences for my players. So jump in and enjoy the ride!

Creating your character
Characters will be created in a campaign on D&D Beyond and then ported over to Foundry. We will be using the 2024 Rules. Try following the 2024 Player Handbook's character options to keep things simple. Other sources will be considered, provided they don't create unintended interactions. Please be mindful of table harmony with your character choices. The party will start at level 5 with starting equipment, a common magic item and +100GP. We can create characters during the free session zero or sometime before the campaign starts at session one.
We will play on Discord, Foundry VTT (Forge VTT) and D&DBeyond. No purchase or download is needed for Foundry VTT, but you will need free accounts for Discord, D&DBeyond and Forge VTT. We will use the 2024 rules for this campaign; 2014 options may be considered, provided they don't interact with the new rules in unintended ways. Current party: Level 8 - Gnome Stars Druid - Aasimar Artificer - Tiefling Warlock - >>> Your next character
What to expect
Preparing for the session
🎮 If you don't already, you will need free Discord, D&D Beyond and Forge VTT accounts. Nothing needs to be purchased. 🎙️ A good mic and headset are recommended for voice communication on Discord. 🎲 A browser plugin called Beyond20 can be used to send your D&D Beyond rolls to Foundry. 🔉 You will receive a link to the Discord Server beforehand, where you can find the rest of the set-up information. 🧑 Please send me any pictures of your character ahead of time so that tokens can be created. ✍️ A half-page character backstory would be nice, but is not mandatory.
