About the adventure
Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. Heya, welcome in! I've been a GM for about 8 years now and I'm looking to play with groups of committed and fun-loving players! I balance both roleplay and combat equally and love playing out new and interesting scenarios! I wish I could select more than three tags. Ryley is truly a master craftsperson. They are so good at telling a story and bringing games to life. They are able to seamlessly incorporate character backstories, making you feel like part of a living, breathing world. They clearly put a lot of time into the sessions, but you never feel like you're being breadcrumbed towards something - quite the opposite, Ryley allows for an immense amount of player autonomy and rolls with choices. Even if the choices are ridiculous. Whether you're a new player looking to learn the ropes or a veteran looking to spread your creative wings, Ryley is an excellent choice to GM your games.

ryley is such an awesome dm, super patient and encouraging and so good at drawing you into the world. love their use of voice, epic map and token builds, and pure creativity to bring the story to life, it's easy to play hours and wish for more! as an online dnd beginner I've felt comfortable learning and playing at their table, they make sure every player is included, I totally recommend them as your next dm!

Character creation
Creating your character
We will make characters together during our Session Zero, along with doing a short trial combat so everyone can get comfortable with their build. If you feel comfortable, free free to make your own character beforehand, using either the "4d6 drop lowest" or "point buy systems", just let me know which you are going with before you build! Here are some other general rules when it comes to character creation: ◆ I allow any race from the https://www.dndbeyond.com/races (Message me if you want to play something that isn't on this list) ◆ All races will be allowed to switch their normal Ability Score Increase to instead increase one ability score by 2 and increase a different one by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. ◆ Any class from the Player's Handbook (subclasses from the other books are accepted as well.) Artificers are allowed with slight modifiers, for balancing, which will be discussed beforehand. ◆ All basic weapons and items will come from your background. Additional items will be given at my discretion, but feel free to let me know any you are interested in.

⦾ All players require a microphone to participate in sessions, along with a Discord account. ⦾ Rules research is not required but encouraged. ⦾ A free D&D account
What Ryley brings to the table
⦾ Discord server set up for this campaign. We will be using it to communicate during the game along with sharing world details, lore, or other campaign info throughout the week. ⦾ I will be screen-capturing Talespire over Discord, and moving characters myself, so an individual version of Talespire is not necessary (but if you have it, you'd be able to play through there as well). The cost of session zero will go towards my purchasing the minis onto my Talespire account. ⦾ I will be providing music and ambiance through a discord bot while running each session. ⦾ And finally, my passion for creating an immersive world for everyone and working together to make this an epic adventure.
