You told your friends and family you wanted to become an adventurer! Some might have looked confused, some pleased, some doubtful. But one of them gave you this note with a wink and a smile Greetings, I have heard that you wish to become an adventurer with an interest in the Feywild? Don't let my tales of the past fool you, the Feywild can be a tricky place. There's lots of rules that don't make sense to us folk from the material plane. But don't fear, I know of a person you can speak to. Go to the alley behind Mac's Butcher shop in Waterdeep on the night of the Feast of the Moon. Wait until duskfall and the tavern will appear. Tell the Ember King I sent you. Good luck and have fun! This is a level 1 adventure set in a small Feywild Domain of Delight, the Tavern of the Ember King. There you will learn about the rules of the Feywild (and the rules of D&D 5e) in a fun and lighthearted environment. About me
Picture it - 1986. 5 children sit around a table while an adult teaches them to play D&D. One small, blonde girl rolls an oddly shaped die and the number facing up is a 20. The children cheer! That little girl wasn't me, it was my little sister. But even though that moment wasn't about my character it has stuck with me all these years. That is the power of role playing games. I played AD&D 2e until my early 20's when life just got too busy and friends drifted apart. I came back to the hobby like many others, after watching many hours of Actual Plays during the pandemic and deciding I just HAD to play again. Since finding a DM is hard and all those hours of watching others play made me feel like I knew the rules, I felt that the only way I could play again was to be the DM. I scoured the internet for one shots and other DMs to hone my craft with. I discovered Foundry and Adventurer's League and have been learning and growing with every game. I am really happy learning new systems and styles and always grab the opportunity to learn, play in or run new RPGs!

Creating your character
Character Creation Standards This is a 1st level adventure. Premade characters will be available. If you choose a premade character, please choose a picture you would like to represent your character. If you would like the joy of creating your own character, I am available to help build characters and there are beginner videos in my Discord When creating new characters please use the standard array - 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 All WOTC is available. I encourage you to be creative, but if you have never played before I encourage you to stick to the Player's Handbook (PHB).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
A computer that can handle Foundry VTT - details can be found here: https://foundryvtt.com/article/player-orientation/ (Purchase of Foundry is completely unnecessary as a player) Voice will be done over Discord. A good mic and internet connection helps, though running Foundry on a computer and Discord voice chat over phone also works. Please use headphones if you have them, it is more polite to your fellow players

This will a relaxed setting to play and learn the game. Although this adventure can be completed without combat, if no combat happens in game, I will run one at the end to complete the learning experience. Taking chances and exploring are encouraged.
