About the adventure
Tired of the classic goblins and skeletons vanilla style D&D games? Looking to throw yourself into a ruined city rife with mutated abominations, rich magical treasures, and cunning NPC factions with flushed out motives and personalities? Drakkenheim will scratch that itch for you! I blend impactful roleplay with deadly tactical combat and the thrill of bountiful loot to bring excitement to the table. I'll be throwing in a voice here and there, ambient music, and descriptions that will engage the 5 senses! In Drakkenheim, the city was destroyed 15 years ago by an eldritch contaminated meteor that has left the city covered in the Haze, a deadly contamination that limits rest and risks mutation via exposure! Some factions are trying to retake the throne, others harvest the magical meteoric resource Delerium for its potent magical energies, while some seek to worship or destroy the material, and others just want to plunder the city. What will you choose to do? Work with the factions, take over one, seek the throne for yourself, or build your personal wealth, power, and magical item collection! Each player will choose a personal quest from the book or work with me to create one and completing it will also reward a feat or stat increase! If you want a game that will bring unique enemies, challenges, and unique subclasses and a class (the Apothecary) courtesy of Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim, then you have found it! Let me be your host through the deadly Dungeons of Drakkenheim! We will play the original module going from levels 3-13, but have the freedom to go all the way to 20 using the expanded content from Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim and the upcoming release of Pluto Jackson's Monster Hunting Guide! We will begin with a free session 0 to go over character creation, the campaign setting, expectations, boundaries, and potentially play a short intro game! Once at least 3 players join we will begin at the first scheduled time.

About me
Hello and thank you for considering playing an incredible game of Dungeons and Dragons with me and others! I have been playing D&D for almost 20 years now, starting with 3.5 edition and taken on the role of both player and Dungeon Master. I myself enjoy playing D&D as well on Start Playing where I get my weekly fix as a player and I enjoy hosing games to share that joy with others as well. What do I bring to the table? -Full D&D Beyond Character Creation options, with an overwhelming majority of content unlocked and a Master Tier Subscription to fulfill all your character customization dreams! -This includes 3rd party content from Ghostfire Gaming, Kobold Press, Critical Role, etc. -Audio during games from Tabletop Audio, YouTube Premium, etc. -Experience with maps and custom tokens making for a seamless VTT experience to go with your convenient D&D Beyond Character Sheet that is friendly for beginners and veterans alike! -Discord Nitro Server for better audio and visual streaming quality. -Owlbear Rodeo Subscription for multiple private rooms. -Thorough notes are taken on my end using Notion.so that way I can take the stress and work off you the player of note taking (although highly encouraged to enrich your experience and immersion in the game). What kind of games should you expect? -I enjoy hosting games of various styles, but my specialty is horror, eldritch horror, high fantasy, and decisions matter style play. -I take inspiration from modules like Curse of Strahd, Dungeons of Drakkenheim, and Ebberon. However I enjoy reading many different modules to draw inspiration from. -I try to engage all your senses when you play the game and not just the visual aspect, describing the sounds, smells, tastes, and touch of the world around you. -Rule of Cool will always prevail. I try to follow the rules set in the D&D 5th edition ruleset, however rules should not inhibit fun! If you have an idea of something you want to try, I will do my best to adjudicate it and make it happen! -I am punctual, communicate timely, and am always willing to meet and discuss your character ideas, what kinds of things you want to experience in the game, and your goals. -Session 0 is always included at no charge where we will discuss boundaries, game preferences, character and campaign fantasies that the party wants to experience, etc. -I enjoy a blend of combat, roleplaying, and exploration, however I try to avoid tedious exploration that takes away from the fun. I focus on keeping the pace of the game going so the group isn't too caught up in one scene, battle, or social interaction, unless everyone is really getting into it. Creating your character
Each character will start at level 3 with a free feat at level one (if using the 2014 characters, otherwise follow the 2024 rules), using any of the classes, subclasses, backgrounds, and races from D&D beyond, including the expanded 3rd party content such as Kobold Press, Critical Role, Humblewood, and the subclasses and Apothecary class from Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim that I will provide. You can use your choice of Point buy or Standard Array for stats and either roll for HP after level 1 (rerolling 1's) or take the average. Each player will choose a personal quest from the campaign module when they start or work on a custom one with me and when completed will reward an additional feat or ability score increase.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
Everyone will need to have a working microphone, free discord account and free D&D Beyond account. No account is needed for Owlbear.rodeo for the map program. Other than that, bring a positive attitude and respect and understanding for your fellow players! If there are any problems at the virtual table, I am always a message or discord meeting away and I take all concerns very seriously. At the end of the day the whole point is to have fun and I will do my absolute best to make sure everyone is getting as much enjoyment out of the game as possible!
