About the adventure
Greetings, adventurers! This is my “She is the Ancient: Curse of Strahd" game for intermediate/expert players and/or people that have played or GMed the Curse of Strahd module before. For those who have never encountered this module before, Curse of Strahd is an exciting, tense, fast-paced adventure. It is a vivid exploration of classic gothic horror tropes and monsters, from werewolves to vampires, ghosts, and more. However, Curse of Strahd is also a brutal, stressful, and alienating experience. Your character will be trapped in a bleak, gothic land quite different from the world they know. The adventure contains several encounters and areas that will likely be far beyond your capabilities when you first encounter them. It does not provide routine or readily-available loot or magical items. There is a real possibility for PC death. You should play She is the Ancient: Curse of Strahd if you: - love gothic horror tropes and themes - want to engage with a character-driven story that pushes you to develop relationships with multiple vivid NPCs and factions - enjoy setting your own goals and pursuing means of achieving them - enjoy facing an active, powerful, and personally antagonizing villain - love updated modules with new twists - have already played (or DMed) Curse of Strahd and want to take on the story again with some new twists and much less bigotry - want to participate in a tense, adrenaline-fueled experience that will create memories to last a lifetime If one (or more) of those apply to you, welcome.

Creating your character
Players will be expected to have a fully completed level 1 character from their free Session 0. We will discuss characters during the beginning of Session 1 as well as on the Discord server.
This is an ongoing, homebrewed version of Curse of Strahd called She is the Ancient. There will be changes to the main plot and the party has already been traveling, so please do not join unless you already have experience with CoS or are fine with taking a divergent path for your first time through.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a microphone and headphones. We will be using Discord which will involve a voice call (video optional) and virtual dice rolls through D&DBeyond, which I will explain how to use during the session. I highly recommend that players read through the Basic Rules which are available for free here: https://dnd.wizards.com/what-is-dnd/basic-rules
What Bee brings to the table
I will provide the Discord server where we will be playing as well as a link to a D&DBeyond campaign where you can set up a free character. I utilize Kenku FM to provide music/ambiance and I am definitely more of a 'Rule of Cool' DM.
