A mysterious people beckon you to Barovia, a cursed land shrouded in mist, where an undying lord rules unbridled and no soul escapes unscathed.
About the adventure
A story of Gothic horror... Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come-all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle's towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind-or perhaps a lone wolf-fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited... Gather your party and venture into the Domain of the First Vampire in the land of Barovia. In Barovia, the night is a curse. With the dying of the light, wicked souls slip from the darkened spires of Castle Ravenloft to work the will of an immortal overlord. The howls of wolves and shrieks of raven swarms echo through the dismal valleys and oppressive forests. In isolated communities, superstitious villagers find the brightness in their lives smothered by dread of their aloof overlord, his baleful servants, and ancient evils that fester unopposed. All the domain’s residents know to fear the Mists and the long Barovian nights, as through them the Devil Strahd watches and reaches to claim whatever he desires. Will you take up arms and finally vanquish the Darklord and free the residents of the domain of dread from their endlessly repeating cycle of torment, or will you join the thousand fallen who are cursed to venture the land eternally? 🧛The campaign runs from level 1 to level 12. 🧛Homebrew additions to the campaign such as monsters and magical items will add new exciting elements for you to explore and experience. 🧛A curated playlist, sound effects and music that matches the ambiance to enhance every session and encounter. 🧛We will be using the UPDATED 2024 Players Handbook Join now! Can't wait to meet you and start telling a wonderfully horrific story alongside you.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi there! My name is Ina, and I have been a Dungeon Master for over seven years. I have run multiple one-shots and a long-term Neverwinter campaign for three years with my close friends. Currently, I am running several modules on StartPlaying, including Curse of Strahd, Out of the Abyss, and a campaign in the popular setting of Exandria. I enjoy adding my personal touch to existing modules and creating homebrew items and spells for my players. I am a big fan of Critical Role and Dimension 20, and I aspire to bring that same joy and excitement to my games. My goal is to share the beautiful world of Dungeons and Dragons with as many adventurers as possible while making a living from something I love and take great joy and pride in. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, join me on an adventure!

Knows the Rules
Ina has been an exceptional DM and her dedication to her craft and attention to storytelling continues to shine through every session in our CoS Campaign. In terms of style, Ima has a firm handle on the ruleset but definitely leans more into the Rule of Cool where appropriate to do so. This gives, in my opinion, a fantastic mix of Rules As Written and Rule Of Cool which has kept the game both challenging and well balanced across multiple character levels. Ina pays as much attention to social encounters as to combat encounters - often resulting in tense social engagements between players and NPCs or situations where players are able to bond and connect with NPCs within the game world. I could not recommend Ina enough as a DM if you have the opportunity to book a session or join a table she is running - truly fantastic player experience, long may it continue.
She lets us have great freedom in how we go about things, even if those choices lead to consequences. She's always trying to make sure everyone feels important and has time to do things they wanna do, and the combat is pretty nice, tactical and doesn't hold back, leading to the team to think and plan for combat rather then muscle through it! Overall she's a great DM all around, from characters to storytelling, it keeps you on your toes and listening in!
Character creation
Creating your character
Characters creation will happen before our first session. I will run a session 0 with the players to make sure everyone is comfortable, answer any outstanding questions and ensure that everyone has their character ready with backstories concluded before session 1. 🪦 For your Ability Scores we use Point Buy system or Standard Array. 🪦You have access to all classes, subclasses, races, feats, backgrounds and spells in the 2024 PHB published by WotC. The 2024 PHB is backwards compatible with previous WotC books. if you would like to play one of the subclasses that did not make it to the 2024 PHB please consult the DM and follow the backwards compatibility guidelines. 🪦Once you have created your character, including the backstory, I will review it with you once more on a one to one call that will last anywhere between 15 – 30 min in order to incorporate your characters to the world ,make any necessary amendments and iron out any final details before session 0.
The party is currently at level 6. We will be using the new 2024 Players Handbook which will be shared with all of you on D&D Beyond. The current party composition is: Oath of Devotion Paladin, Celestial Patron Warlock, School of Abjuration Wizard and an Archfey Warlock. Having escaped Castle Ravenloft with Gertruda, a young girl who disappeared from the village of Barovia, and an old man who speaks of a treasure that would keep the shadows at bay, they make their way back to Vallaki to prepare for what comes next. Beginners are welcome!
