About the adventure
*** The Necropolis. The Ivory City. The Resting Place. It's been called many things over the years, but now people usually just call it the Bone Zone. Well, the city's coarser denizens sometimes call it that. You though, you can call it Haud-Luranko, or Hod for short. Hod is a city where the Underdark and the surface world coexist in relative harmony, built into and around the bones of an ancient colossus. Money has been a bit tight lately, so in order to support yourself, you've joined The Cleaners. A local guild that handles everything from finding lost items to slaying monsters. Your guildmaster has tasked you(and your friends) with a very sensitive mission: find and return her missing nephew who's rumored to be in a neighboring city. The catch? His parents are relatively famous, so the entire operation needs to be done as quickly and quietly as possible. *** The Cleaning Crew Capers is a Homebrew DnD setting with three potential main plot-lines. We'll start off with a few short adventures, doing jobs for the Guild. Then, depending on your party's actions in the city during those missions, that will determine which of the main stories your group will get caught up in. Will it be... ...keeping an illusive cult from resurrecting an ancient destructive force. ...stopping a conflict from escalating into an all-out war that could engulf the entire continent. ...a mysterious and powerful being seeks to shift the entire country into an alternate Plane of existence. --- Listing image: A derivative (crop/text overlay) by TheLaziestOrc of "Pepper-and-Carrot_by-David-Revoy_E03P01" by David Revoy, CC-By

About me
Hi! I'm Eric ^_^ I'm relatively new to the ttrpg scene(especially considering some people have literal decades of experience!). I've been a player for a few years, but only recently started dming. Although I'm mainly familiar with Dnd 5e, I love ttrpgs in general. Specifically, because they allow far more freedom and creativity than almost any other medium. I welcome all kinds of players, experienced and novice alike!

Creating your character
We will be starting this campaign at level 3 and going to level 10(with the option to continue all the way to level 20, if the group would like). We will be using Milestone leveling(you will level up when reaching certain points of the story) We will go through character creation in session 0, and for anyone joining after session 0, I can guide you through character creation with a brief 1 on 1 between sessions. No worries if you're not to into character creation or you find it intimidating. I've got plenty of premade characters that you can choose to use as is, or even customize if you feel like. (If you're a new player I really do recommend creating a new character though, it will help familiarize you with a lot of the game mechanics.)
What to expect
Preparing for the session
What will you need to play?: 1). You will need a mic, however no web cam will be necessary. Although not strictly necessary, a headset or headphones is also highly recommended so as to not disrupt other player's audio experience. 2). You will need a Discord account. We will be using the voice chat and messaging through there. I recommend using the app instead of the browser for game sessions. https://discord.com/ 3). We will be playing using Foundry VTT, so I will send you the Foundry VTT link to our game, and your login info for it, through Discord. And that's it! Hope to hear from you soon and I look forward to having lots of adventures together! ^_^
What Eric brings to the table
All the information for playing and character creation will be provided in Foundry VTT and Discord. I like to provide atmospheric music, scenic splash screens, and tactical battle maps(especially with regards to battle maps and encounters, I like to construct them so that things feel dynamic). I enjoy doing stuff like character voices, but don't feel like it's something you'll have to do if you don't want to ;) I like to find a balance between Rule of Cool and Rules as Written. For me and how I will rule on a situation, it really depends on the specific circumstances and how will the story be effected.

How Eric creates a safe table
Session 0 is free. When you join the Discord server I will send a brief RPG checklist for you to fill out and we can go through it in direct messages. During our session 0(or your introductory session if you are joining after) we will go over and discuss the safety tools for the campaign. While this is usually a pretty silly and fun campaign, it can get a bit dark at times, but aside from swearing(I swear like a sailor tbh) I plan on keeping things relatively PG-13, with fading to black or leaving things implied rather than explicit. Midway into the session we will have a 10-15 min break to get snacks, use the restroom, or take care of any other necessities. I have a zero tolerance policy for the following things: Do not sexually harass or verbally abuse any player at the table. It does not matter if it's "in character" or out. Do not do it. Bigotry in any form. This includes jokes. That type of humor does not have a place at my table.
