About the adventure
This game is perfect for both new and experienced D&D players who enjoy having fun, telling fantastical stories, and following the rule of cool. The campaign is designed to be potentially long-running! Level 3-15 and potentially further! Starting with: "Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, A grand urban caper awaits you, Pit your skill and bravado against dangerous villains you've never faced the likes of before, and let the gold hunt begin!" Then into the second half of "Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, a journey to the beloved town of Phandalin, where a cult threatens to ruin the region. The Heroes will solve the mysteries of whats going on and stamp out the growing corruption as you uncover more about the nasty happenings plaguing the small town..."

About me
Greetings hero, I am Alex I have been running these improv dice-enhanced stories for a few years for people roughly about 9 years altogether, most of them being long-term games with the same players, the longest being one and a half years long. I enjoy incorporating my players' character stories into the game world and letting them carve their names into the world while creating amazing stories and developing the character's story further than what we came up with originally, seeing how they evolve.

Creating your character
-The game is on Roll20 with characters at Level 3 using Point Buy and Starting Equipment. When choosing racial stats, you can allocate 2 points to one stat and 1 point to another. You can choose to use or not use the presented racial stats, giving you more freedom to be creative. (This excludes Variant Humans, as they are a variation of Humans.) -Feel free to use the "Players Handbook, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants (Minus backgrounds), Fizban's Treasury of Dragons and Eberron: Rising from the Last War." as I have these on Roll20 for easy character creation under "charactermancer". -We are using the Exandrian/Critical Role pantheon for world deities to make things simpler and it's a well-designed pantheon but the game still is on the Sword Coast. -PLEASE NOTE: Each CLASS has ONE archetype that is Restricted from use, This is just for variation and balancing, and we won't be duplicating starting classes. The restrictions: Barbarian: Totem /Bard: Eloquence /Cleric: Twilight /Druid: Shepard /Fighter: Rune Knight /Monk: Open Hand /Paladin: Watcher /Ranger: Gloom Stalker /Rogue: Soulknife /Sorcerer: Wild Magic /Warlock: Hexblade /Wizard: Scribe. We also won't be using any homebrew races/classes, Spelljammer, Magic: The Gathering Content, CR content, Dragonlance, and Book of Many Things backgrounds or Noncore D&D content (materials that aren't in physical books). -"Characters welcome" is the catchphrase! We can develop characters together, or you can bring your own character concepts or pop culture characters you want to play, and we will flesh them out!
This game will be: Played on Roll20, using Discord for voice and or video (if you desire). Headphones/earbuds ARE required. Experience: None Required! Open to all! Welcoming of new players! -No mobile users sorry- Party consists of Artificer, Bard, Paladin, and Rogue.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Headset or mic to communicate through Discord, if you have excessive background noise push to talk may be requested. Headphones/earbuds ARE required. -No mobile users sorry- Any idea for your character would be rad, I will help you get them into the world with no problem, you will need a character token that closely resembles your character for Roll20, Pinterest is a great spot for an idea that can also help get ideas for the character image. Google searching the class and race can get good results. If you have your own dice you may use them but if I get any kinda hint you are breaking the honor system we will be asked to roll digitally with Roll20/D&Dbeyond for the rolls. ANY QUESTIONS? Don't hesitate to hit me up! axl_is_alex on Discord
What Alex brings to the table
You will have access to all the books on Roll20 I have via the compendium and these will make things easier for gameplay and character creation, I also own the books as PDFs too, I have a lot of maps and NPC pictures procured over time from the internet, and a lot of experience running for new or longtime players in long-term campaigns.
Homebrew rules
-Drinking a potion as a bonus action. -Nat 1s attack rolls have the potential to harm friends.

How Alex creates a safe table
My goal is to create an enjoyable experience by weaving a fantastical story with fun people. During gameplay, everyone will have their time in the spotlight. I'm not one to be a rules stickler and prefer the Rule of Cool and having a good time. However, as the DM, my say on the rules is final. Our main goal is to have fun, not argue over rules. The rules are a guideline to a good time. To ensure everyone is on the same page, I love having a character creation/0.5 session. This allows us to ask any questions about the game/table rules and then meet the cool new heroes we've just created. I also keep an open inbox on Discord for any questions or concerns players may have. If any issues arise, I will always make time for a 1 on 1 conversation and aim to resolve them professionally.
