Amazing GM. I have never felt as a player more in control of where the story is going. He gives you options in every turn, it is up to the players to decide what they want to do, truly amazing. Very good with voices, describing the terrain and setting on what your characters see around them breathing life into your imaginary world you concoct in your mind.

From the first minute Billy kept helping me to get everything set up properly, has maintained constant communication, and ran an AMAZING first session for our game. He let everyone have their moments to shine and kept us moving throughout the game, I can't wait to keep this game going!

From the very beginning BWatford was in constant communication and his Discord server is very easy to navigate and very well laid out. He took time to host a session so everyone could learn how to navigate Fantasy Grounds, explaining how everything works and answering questions. Our session-0 was awesome, his descriptions were amazing and used mood music to set each scene perfectly. The pace of the game was excellent and he took time to help anyone who had questions or was new to D&D. He's a natural storyteller and it shows during his games. I've played a handful of online games with other GM's and hands down, BWatford is the best GM I've had the privilege of playing with. I'm super excited for our next session and look forward to our journey from level-1 to 20. If you're looking for an amazing GM, choose BWatford for your next D&D game here on StartPlaying!

Great DM, extremely knowledgeable about both the game and the software used, and always ready to help new players who are still learning the game. Uses just the right amount of descriptive language to give a clear and immersive idea of what our characters are experiencing without feeling overly drawn out, and gives each NPC a convincing and engaging personality to build a believable game world.

The flickering torchlight illuminated the grim stone walls of the dungeon as we, a ragtag band of adventurers, descended into its shadowy depths. Each step we took echoed with purpose, each twist of the labyrinth seemed alive, and every decision felt monumental. This, my fellow travelers, is the magic woven by Billy—our Dungeon Master, our guide through chaos, our architect of worlds. Billy's mastery as a DM is a symphony of artistry and precision. From the very first session, it was clear we were in the hands of a true storyteller. The world he creates is more than a setting; it breathes, it sings, it dares us to immerse ourselves entirely. His attention to detail is unparalleled—the subtle flicker of candlelight on damp stone, the ominous undertone of a bard's tale in a smoky tavern, the weight of an ancient key in trembling hands. These are not mere descriptions; they are invitations to step fully into the narrative. Billy's skill with Fantasy Grounds—a tool he wields like a warrior with a finely honed blade—adds layers to the experience. The maps he brings to life, sprawling across multiple floors with secrets at every turn, are a testament to his dedication. No two sessions feel alike, yet every one feels like coming home to adventure. Perhaps Billy’s greatest strength is his heart. He is a DM who listens, who understands that the true magic of D&D lies in collaboration. He empowers creativity with the “rule of cool,” letting our wildest ideas take flight. He is patient with our questions, a beacon of clarity in the murkiness of rules. Whether you're a grizzled veteran of the game or a first-time adventurer fumbling with a character sheet, Billy makes you feel welcome. His genuine enthusiasm is contagious, spreading through the party like a shared laugh after a critical hit. Every session with Billy is a journey I eagerly anticipate. He is not just a Dungeon Master; he is a storyteller. In the endless expanse of digital dice rolls and dreams, Billy stands as a legend. If you ever have the chance to sit at his table, seize it. The adventures you’ll embark on will be the stuff of epic tales, the kind you'll remember long after the last die has fallen silent.

Gameplay details

Safety tools will be covered in Session #0 My expectations as a DM. 1. Expect your actions to have consequences. Don't be stupid. Play smart. If I give you lots of hints that opening the box will unleash fiery death. Don't open the box and expect to live. 2. I'm a story teller, the rule of cool applies. If it's cool, cinematic and epic, screw the rules- I'll probably allow it. If this grates against your rules lawyer soul...we are not meant to play together. 3. Unless I tell you otherwise...assume you can play with the scenery to help craft the story. I expect each of you create interesting scenes, don't just walk into a room, roll the dice, and ask what you found. Tell me what you are saying, and doing, and what your ultimate goal is. If I need a dice roll, I will ask for one.

How will character creation work

For this game, we've chosen to use Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition (A5E) rather than the standard 5e. Our decision is rooted in A5E's superior customizability, depth in character creation, and a more balanced approach to gameplay. A5E provides a richer, more engaging experience, allowing for greater creativity and strategic play. We believe this enhances our gaming experience, making every session more memorable and unique.
