About the adventure

WE WILL BE RICH! or die trying... You and your companions arrive in Neverwinter, The Jewel of the North, hoping to establish yourselves as band of expert adventurers for hire, and strike it big in this wealthy metropolitan city. Luckily for you Lord Neverember himself is looking for just such a group of disposable.. ahem.. I mean realiable sorts to assist in the protection of the City. Joining the local guard is not what you had in mind, but it will add much needed credentials when you all finally go it alone. If you do a good job, an endorsement from Lord Neverember himself would do wonders for potential business. Little do you all know however, the strange goings on that you are to uncover in your first days here in your new home.... Overview: This campaign begins with the Level 3 oneshot Vecna: Nest of the Eldritch Eye, to introduce you all to the city that will be your home for the forseeable. Upon discovering some dark dealings within the city and dealing with it in only ways you know how, you will be invited to establish your own adventurers guild. Design your HQ along with me, take on various contracts of your choosing, level up and increase your skills in your down time and become one of Neverwinter's most reputable Adventuring groups in a homebrew section driven by the players decisions. (Levels 4-10) At the height of your fame and reputation however, the darkness begins to stir, as Lord Neverember now calls on you to investigate something rather concerning within the city limits. You and your companions will now face true darkness and power as we feed into the Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign, taking your character all the way to Level 20. Come and join me to forge a story of your choosing, and to bring your character to the height of absolute power in this far reaching weave of EPIC adventure!

About me

Hey all! I am Kris also known as Wriz. I have been playing D&D for 10 years 8 of which as a DM. I was first introduced to this awesome game by a fantastic group of friends (who I still play with every thursday!), but like many latecomers to the game, I became inspired by the likes of Critical Role and Dimension20, and I am so happy I stumbled across them as D&D is now a full fledged addiction for me. I strive to bring several things to my games. - Making your backstory matter - Your actions affect the world, permanently - Crafting unique NPCs that you want to revisit and interact with - Rewarding great play and innovation - LOOT The best thing about D&D and TTRPGs in general is that the players make the story. There is always an end goal, but how you get there is up to you, and no matter how you and your group decide to get there, its my job to facilitate that adventure in the best way I can. If you think that sounds like something you would enjoy, drop me a message or join in one of my sessions.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will happen on D&D beyond, and stats will be rolled or picked in session 0. Characters will start at level 3. Over the week before the first session I will sit with each player and help them build out their back story, and create information that their character would know about the world. We will discuss aims and arcs for what you want to achieve during your time in my campaign. All content will be provided, though I am open to 3rd party content as long as it is run past me first.

The current party

The players are at level 7 at the moment, doing some homebrew cult hunting in Neverwinter. Eve of ruin will start at level 10!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players need to prepare is a working Microphone (Video is optional) A Dndbeyond.com account A roll20.net account A Discord account As long as you have those, I will help you with the rest!

What Kris brings to the table

In terms of setup, I bring a wide range of resources on D&D beyond for character creation that will be shared with the group so they can go crazy creating their ideal character they wish to see grow. Each session is run on roll20 with official and custom battle maps. I supply a music bot for background music and ambience throughout the campaign. I am a performative DM and will introduce you to a host of memorable NPCs each with their own unique voices and personalities. I endeavour to be descriptive in combat and encourage players to get creative and tell me what they are doing and how things look. For me Rule of Cool trumps Rules as Written as long as it makes sense!

Safety

How Kris creates a safe table

In session 0 we will discuss anything the players do not wish to encounter and go over everyones lines and veils. I will regularly check in on players in private 1-1 discord channels which will be assigned before the campaign runs and be used right from character creation. I run an open door policy, if anyone needs to step away or take a break for a moment they are always free to do so. Players are also always free to ping me directly in game in their private chat to signal that I need to change topic or retcon a theme.
