About the adventure
Over two-hundred years ago, a group known as "The Finishers" were interred within magical stasis chambers in their hidden tomb beneath the castle. These heroes knew their task; To sacrifice their linear existence to protect their country. Should the Queen's people ever be under great threat, her descendants would awaken them. In this campaign, the Player Characters are a group of heroes that awaken from stasis every-so-often to save the land from threats, and thus have a great impact on that land's history and culture. They will be viewed as increasingly legendary figures, while having to struggle with the inner turmoil of only seeing snapshots of history at its most dire. After every adventure, the PCs return to stasis, awakening later to discover the ripple effects of their actions. Unless, of course, the plan changes. This is a weird one, folks. Strap in. ⚖️ Politics: Medium 🎭 Roleplaying: High 🪖 Tactics: Low to Medium 🪞 Player Agency: Lots 🪝 Player Hook Each Player Character has already been a hero before the story starts. What are they known for? Why did they choose to sacrifice their normal life to become one of The Finishers? Are you as a player okay with outliving your favorite NPCs? Meeting their children's children in the future? Watching as your character becomes a living relic of days long past? No pressure.

About me
Greetings, traveler. I am Cruxien, an american writer, musician, and game master. I have been running a TTRPG session *at least* once a week since early 2016. I love GMing, especially for new players who are discovering these games for the first time. Should you choose a seat at my table, you can expect: 🔮 Engaging and flexible stories told in my homebrew settings 🔮 🏳️🌈 Queer and Neurodivergent safe sessions 🏳️🌈 📙 Beginner-friendly approach to game rules 📙

Creating your character
During our Session 0, we will discuss character backstories and personalities, player expectations / desires, and walk through character creation in Foundry. Characters will begin at Level 2 with a feat of their choice from my collection on Foundry. If we play a few sessions and you realize you picked the wrong class, that's okay; We can change it up. It is far more important to me that your character sheet is reflecting your vision of the character than being strict. We will also be using Milestone leveling for this campaign, so we won't be tracking individual Experience Points; Players will level up after specific milestones, which will typically be when the player characters return to stasis after a quest.
The party is currently playing through their 2nd adventure of the campaign, and are at Level 5. New players are welcome at any time! After all, the court wizard built 6 stasis chambers beneath the old fortress. Any sufficiently heroic character could be sworn into The Finishers!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need: - A mic - A space to play with minimal background noise - A laptop or PC (Foundry does not work well on mobile) - A Discord account You may want to: - Think about your character ahead of time. This isn't just some adventurer, this is someone who was well-known in the kingdom, and willing to completely surrender their life to it. - Consider if there is a story direction you want said character to go in, or an area you want to explore that I should know about
What Cruxien, Orange Wizard brings to the table
This game will be hosted on Foundry VTT, and will feature many of my own original maps as well as the masterful ones from Cze & Peku. I have detailed information on all supported classes, spells, feats, etc. in the Foundry instance for easy access, including source books from MCDM, Kobold Press, and even a few official 5e products... which I use... sometimes. Besides all those, I do a lot of my own homebrewing to keep things interesting. If you know 5e back-to-front and don't want it changing, you might want to look elsewhere. I also utilize background music and do character voices. While it is not required for you to speak in-character, for this particular campaign it is recommended to at least have a good idea of your character's inner world as it is very important to the story.
Homebrew rules
🤹 Ability Score Improvements. When determining your character’s ability scores, you are granted two +2 increases (or four +1 increases / one +2 and two +1s) instead of using the one granted by your character’s fantasy race. 🪄 Custom Spell Lists. This campaign has its own spell lists with minor alterations and additions. These lists will include all 5e spells (as well as new ones), but slightly alter which classes get which spells (to improve niche protection). 👊 Critical Hits. When rolling damage for a critical hit, double the results of your die rolls instead of rolling more dice. This doubling is performed before any modifiers are added to the roll(s). 🍾 Drinking Potions. You may drink a potion as a Bonus Action rather than a full Action. Administering a potion to an ally still requires a full Action. 📜 Spell Scrolls. When using a spell scroll, the spell does not need to be on your class’ spell list. Checks to cast higher level spells still apply.
