"The Exiled" | Sandbox beginner 🏳️🌈 friendly campaign
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
* You are heroes freshly arriving in a prison cave system in need of help. * Chapter one is for beginners or veteran starting lvl 1 or 3 * Compelling intrigues and many social interactions await you * Tough negociations or epic battles will occur according to your actions! Welcome to the Underkingdom! For a reason only you know, you have been banished from the Empire of the Everlasting Jewels. Was it because you didn't fit the society standards? Was it because you didn't have the proper parentage? Was it because you crossed the wrong noble one too many times? Or maybe none of the above, maybe you wanted to come into the Underkingdom? The stories do say that every monster the world could conceive was cast down into the ancient portals by the first Emperor and his army. But were they all monsters? Whatever the reason, you have come to the Underkingdom. Cold, hungry and exhausted, you were rescued by the people that now call the large cave world you arrived in home. They fed you, asked you for a few weeks of work in exchange and then set you free, no questions asked. What will you do now in this beautiful, exotic yet savage world?
Game style
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Creativity
An excellent Game Master ! Able to create complex stories with dense background, and yet to make the experience friendly and easy for all kind of players, either first-timers or experienced ones. His games are open, fully of opportunities and leave the choice to the players to make all possible decisions, even the most unfortunate ones :) A really pleasure and fun to have such a GM with us.
I have played with Truthfool for a few years now in a long running campaign and some shorter ones and my experiences with Truthfool as a DM has been amazing. He is very including and patient with his players and creates a good enviroment for players and characters too grow. He does some amazing story telling with good visualization, ambience with his music choices and always manages to capture attention of his players with his storytelling. I highly recommend trying out sessions with Truthfool and experiencing his games that is full of amazing lore, and his world that feels really life like as no mather the player choices, the world still moves on around the players and Npcs live their own life that you may or may not get to enjoy and learn about.

How to prepare
To play you will need : - a mic - a discord account (- https://discord.com/) - an internet connexion - a computer setup that can work with Foundry requirement (https://foundryvtt.com/article/requirements/) - Optionals: a webcam, dndbeyond account (www.dndbeyond.com) To play we'll use discord for voice chat. I recommend using cameras so we can see one another but it is not mandatory. I have a discord server (link will be given in session 0) For Foundry you will need a free account to The Forge. I will provide the link as well. YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW THE RULES OF THE GAME :)
What I provide
I'm bringing custom maps, npcs, stories and worlds. I own almost the entire Dnd Beyond collection for 5e in digital form and can share it to the party. I "do" voices for my npcs with no shame and without intent to harm or make fun of anybody. If it is disturbing, just tell me so. My games have a very sandbox tendancy. I have a headcanon of the story and there is a "normal" plot and scene flow to all my campaigns but I usually prefer to follow where the players go even if it may derail far away from the original gameplan. Rules I tend to use rules as intended over rules as written when it breaks the game engine but not if it makes it fun for the table. I will disclaim as much as possible when I don't follow rules as written in advance to you. Especially if it has mechanical effects to the player gameplans and so. I don't fudge rolls. I hide rolls from the players to keep a little tension about what the creatures can do however. In some settings, some spells will not be available due to lore reasons. I will of course tell you as much and yes you can still cast fireballs :) Maps I don't use maps for every step of the game, usually you will have a regional map and city maps when needed. Some places will have detailed combat type maps even if it's not expected to be a fighting place to give a better understanding of your surroundings. But not every shop has a map (yes I have favorite npcs and make homes for them). I use ambiance images when there is no specific map. Music I've had mixed results with music backgrounds over the years; I'm not using music in my default setting but I have music playlists that I could use if it is a wish at the table.
Gameplay details
Session 0 will go over the RPG consent list and discuss the line and veils for the games ahead. I will make a personnal file for the game that will be available on demand to the players. We will go over both table rules and game rules for the major topics and any topic players would want to clear. Major topics include: Exception to rules and adjucation of rules, party TPK, PvP level. The X cards will be included in the Foundry game (digital) and I will explain how to use them. I will be available before and after the sessions to discuss the games. I always propose a post game discussion/analysis both about the emotional level of the party and for feedback. Special note: some of the art you willl see is AI generated (Nightcafe) as I don't have the funds to only use humans for everything. I'm hoping to replace most to all of it when I have the means to.

How will character creation work
Character creation You are more than welcome to send me your character ideas via discord or direct message here so we can check them together. For DnD 5e, any book content is ok with me. If you have a very specific unusual plan, message me about it beforehand. Stats I will explain the creation options in session 0 but know that you will have a choice between pointbuy or several rolling options. If you want to go for stat rolls, this will happen in session 0. As is customary, no stats rolls on the side. Campaign level for Chapter 1: lvl 1 to 5 Depending on the veterancy of the players, the team will start lvl 1 with a quick run to lvl 3 as a beginner's introduction to the game or directly lvl3 if all players prefer it (it does not shorten the campaign). Leveling is a mix of milestone (80%) and experience gain (20%). Character sheets The character sheets can be made in Dnd Beyond and imported into Foundry or directly in Foundry. Maps will be available in Foundry and handouts will be in Foundry.
