Meet the Game Master
About me
Hey y'all, I'm Chris. I'm a late 30-something Game Master from and currently living on the edge of Hillbilly Nation in the state of Kentucky. For a little north of the past 20 years I've usually been actively running, or thinking about running, some sort of tabletop roleplaying game. In 2003, I started running games because no one else wanted to play the game I wanted to. Then in 2024, I decided to take the plunge and try asking complete strangers to *pay* me to play make-believe for a few hours every week. To be completely honest, I still have a hard time understanding why, but after a couple of years of doing this at a professional level I'm starting to accept that I might be good at it. I'm a shy person by nature. I have mild stutter, plenty of anxiety, and enough self-doubt to go around -- but I also love being a Game Master. It's fun, it's creatively rewarding, and I'm constantly getting to meet and learn about new people, places, and things when I do it. Listen, I re-wrote and deleted huge chunks of this. I want to respect your time and try to make your experience fun. I want you to feel like you can relax, have a good time, and get engaged in creating a fun experience that makes your 3-ish hours with me a highlight of your week. Everything else is just set dressing.
View Profile βCharacter creation
Creating your character
Characters are created via the standard Star Wars D6 2nd Edition Revised & Expanded ruleset (available for free online). There is an automated generator in the system to help with creation for new players. This game is set during the galactic civil war but nothing is off the table: Smuggler, Imperial Traitor, Rebel Spy, Holodrama Star, Bounty Hunter, Ex-Jedi... the only rule that I have is that you play a character who's sympathetic(ish) to the former Rebel Alliance and is willing to work with other characters.
πONLY ONE SEAT LEFT! π The FarStar is hot on the trail of Moff Sarne in the uncharted Kathol Outback! After loosing several crewmembers to the horrors of Arris IV, they've set down on the seemly peaceful Imperial-loyalist world of Gandle Ott to update their hyperspace maps and seek out information on the Moff... π² Star Wars d6 Characters are closer to normal people (like the characters in Andor or Luke Skywalker at the beginning of his journey) than the super heroics of more prominent characters. It's a deadly system that rewards player creativity and ingenuity, rather than numbers on a sheet. -Current Characters- (Listed in order of creation.) β¨ Kosha Nyree, a Togruta technician and self-trained Jedi. πΌ Khev Nota, Human white-collar criminal turned revolutionary. π¦ Dralla-Ka, Barabel force-sensitive archeologist and Jedi scholar. πΆ Devis Nightswimmer, Alderannian diplomat and music archivist. π Eins-Lom, a crystalline Shard pilot who operates a droid chassis.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a dedicated microphone, a quiet space with minimal background noise, a computer or laptop capable of running Discord, and a modern internet browser such as Firefox or Chrome in order to access the VTT. Webcams are welcome but not required.
What WickerGames brings to the table
I'm bringing a VTT setup tailored for Star Wars D6 play along with music and some sound effects to enhance immersion. Characters can be maintained independently or via the VTT. Games will be run using Theater of the Mind and tactical combat using Foundry's VTT system with additional modules for automation, immersion, and user-friendliness.

Safety
How WickerGames creates a safe table
You are expected to behave like mature adults who have shown up to a friend's house for dinner. Personal attacks against one another for any reason are not tolerated. During the game, an X-card safety system is in-place, which will send a message to the GM exclusively. All players will be provided a link to fill out a copy of the Monte Cooke consent in gaming checklist prior to their first session. This is to help establish content boundaries at the table and help prevent real-life strife from a made-up game. There will be absolutely no instances of sexual assault or sexual harassment. Star Wars is a big complicated thing that's been around for a long time. It means a lot of things to a lot of people and those things might not agree with your version of Star Wars. That's fine, but this is not the place to compare movies, eras, or actors -- this is an expression of love for the genre, not a platform to explain why you didn't like a certain movie/show/book. Players who go out of their way to violate these terms will be subject to dismissal from the campaign. ******** Every session includes about 10-15 mins of table-talk at the beginning to get us in the Star Wars mood, at which point I expect the game to mostly engaged, but relaxed. Halfway through the session, we always take a 15 min break. When we get back there's a brief check-in before the game resumes.
