About the adventure

The city of Arentarl is renowned throughout Lymeria for their grand colosseum where all people, from royalty to common folk, can come to experience the thrill of combat from the safety of the stands above the arena. Exhibition games are held year round, but during Estiva, Arentarl holds the Champion Games, a ten week tournament where the best fighters, mages, and adventurers compete in battle royale combat to earn the the ultimate title, Supreme Champion of Arentarl, and all the fame and wealth that title demands. The tournament consists of three, three-week series (Manticore, Pegasus, and Dragon) and culminating in the final championship battle where the winners of the three series compete for the title of Supreme Champion. You and up to seven other players will create level 15 characters to do battle against each other in an arena full of boons, surprises, and hazards to determine who has the skills to make it to the championship. The winner of Pegasus Series: Week 2 will be offered a free seat in Pegasus Series: Week 3 to defend their status. Dragon Series Character Creation rules: Allowed Sourcebooks: Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Elemental Evil Player's Companion, Volo's Guide to Monsters, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, and Mordenkainen Presents Monsters of the Multiverse. Level: 15 Ability Scores: We will be using Standard Array for ability scores. These are 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8, and they are applied before any Racial modifiers. Ability scores cannot be higher than 20 through the use of ASIs or feats. Race: Any included in the allowed sourcebooks. Class: Artificer, Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard. Multiclassing is allowed but only using this list of classes. Equipment: 2,000 GP for non-magic equipment, 1 very rare (or lower) magic item, 2 rare (or lower) magic items, 3 uncommon (or lower) magic consumables. The first 1-2 hours will be used for getting connected and set up in Fantasy Grounds Unity and character creation. The combat will proceed until one only PC remains alive.

About me

If you are looking to start an epic story with your quirky character, with a good balance of roleplay and combat encounters, and you appreciate a non-antagonistic relationship between player and DM where your character's autonomy is respected, I am the Dungeon Master for you. I'm very comfortable with the rules of D&D 5e, while also open to house rulings and a general "rule of cool" attitude. My priority when running a campaign is to facilitate a fun experience. I would be honored to run a game for you.

Character creation

Creating your character

While I suggest figuring out your character build prior to the session, official character creation will occur at the top of the session and will continue until all players have completed building their characters in Fantasy Grounds Unity.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will be given a link to join my Discord server, and at game time, I will walk everyone through connecting to my game on Fantasy Grounds Unity, as well as how to load modules and begin character creation.

What Fortunato The Bard brings to the table

I will provide all the sourcebooks loaded into Fantasy Grounds and a Discord server to facilitate voice chat.

Safety

How Fortunato The Bard creates a safe table

As this is a roleplay-light one shot, I do not foresee any crossing of boundaries, content wise. Player harassment will be called out and warned against, but as this is a Player vs Player scenario, some antagonism should be expected, as long as it is done respectfully and in a spirit of fun. Anyone being malicious, hurtful, or offensive to another player will be removed to support an atmosphere of fun and exciting combat.
