Austen runs an immersive experience that allows you to grow and experience the world as a player as well as your character. He cultivates a group with an excellent dynamic and throughout a turbulent year his sessions have been something I look forward to each week. I came in with a character concept and backstory and he helped me weave it into his world and story.
I am absolutely enjoying this campaign. It’s a unique spin on a dnd classic. Everything is forming up to be a great story to unfold. Austen is a great story teller. I love the music and visual aids that he uses to set the mood and create an immersive experience. Overall, having a really great time And will keep coming back to see this story continue:
I was skeptical when I first heard about Start Playing, but Austen really won me over. He always goes above and beyond in making sure that everyone has fun at his games. Not only does he know the rules, but he knows how to make sure that everyone is involved and engaged with the game. And he clearly puts a lot of work into his campaign.
Austen is an amazing DM. He always brings awesome set pieces and encounters for each session. He uses a variety of charming and creative NPCs to help tell the story in a way that makes everything feel connected. Most importantly, he goes out of his way to give everyone at the table feel included. I highly recommend joining one of his games.
The effort Austin puts into his worlds shows. I have had a blast interacting with the NPCs and just when you think you know whats coming he throws a curveball. Character actions and decisions have world altering impacts. But the greatest thing is how much we all laugh. I count down the days each week until his session.

How Austen creates a safe table
Players should expect a similar tone in this game to the Amazon show and the Fallout game series. A fun and sometimes silly world, also coated in gruesome violence and darker tones. It's a tough world in the Fallout, but there is plenty of light within it too. Players are encouraged to write the DM anytime during or after a session to discuss themes that may be too intense for them. Overall, my version of Fallout is one that contains more lighthearted moments than darker ones.
