About the adventure
The Zombie Apocalypse has been unleashed! A small band of survivors must work together to survive and escape into safety! Play in a sandbox medieval fantasy city that has fallen into decay! Hack and slash your way through hordes of the living dead, or find clever solutions and cobble together a plan to survive! Race against time as the zombies increasingly grow in power and complexity - culminating in a tense and suspenseful finale! (If your group can make it that far) Majority of martial characters is recommended to preserve the tense atmosphere of a survival challenge! This experience is aimed for intermediate to experienced players. New players are welcome too but expect an uphill battle that is all part of the fun!

About me
I want to run DnD more often and be compensated enough that I can focus on running DnD games for most of my time. I also specialize in running Westmarches style campaigns where each session is a one-shot style quest that has a definite beginning, middle and end. However, each session still belongs to a shared world and all the players are members of the same adventuring guild. I've successfully ran such a game for 3 years since the start of the pandemic. It's about time I try and open this kind of game up to more people.

Creating your character
Characters will be level three. Standard array or point buy will do. If everyone can meet up for a session zero, then I'll allow 4d6 style rolling for stats. A party of mostly martial characters with little magic is preferred although the odd spellcaster or so is alright. Go for more horror or gothic horror themes for your archetypes and sourcebooks (officially published only, please). But feel free to play as an average person that just happened to survive as well if that's your cup of tea! I generally just use PDF or scans of actual character sheets. But if you have access to any online or app tools for your characters, feel free to do so. Just make sure to submit it to me before we start. Feel free to contact me at any time to answer more questions about character creation.
YOU DON'T NEED TALE SPIRE TO PLAY! I just use it to illustrate combat by streaming it on discord or posting screenshots!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure to have a solid internet connection. A decent mic is preferred so that communication is clear. Make sure to have set aside time for the session. And make sure to come prepared by having your character sheet ready. Game will start as scheduled and we will not wait for you to roll up your character right then and there.
What Yennan brings to the table
I'll provide a private discord for all of us to play in. I will also play ambient music on the discord voice channel. I generally lean more towards chat based gameplay as it's also good for those that are concerned with social shyness. But I can switch to audio call gameplay if it's needed. I will however require everyone to be on an a discord call either way to help facilitate the game even if it's chat based. I also provide a lot of reference photos in situations or when descriptions are not enough to fully convey the scenery as well as NPC appearances. For combat, I specifically use Tale Spire. I will stream it on the discord call for everyone to see in real time. I will also post screenshots for those that have slower internet connections. In general, you can expect my games to have a lot of narrative and tight encounter based gameplay. Throughout the years, I've learned much to cut the tedium out of TTRPG experiences and to get right into the best part that people enjoy the most.

How Yennan creates a safe table
YOU DON'T NEED TALE SPIRE TO PLAY! I just use it to illustrate combat by streaming it on discord or posting screenshots! Players can expect little hints about the overall narrative sprinkled throughout the encounters, with more of it unraveling as the tension heightens! General rules as written adherence is observer but rule of cool will be implemented from time to time. Everyone will be playing as 3rd level adventurers in their downtime, caught unawares and in the middle of a chaotic event. Majority of safety tools will be handled during Session Zero. If a group Session Zero is not possible, I will gladly communicate in any shape way or form to facilitate it before we play. Everyone will be given a link to lines and veils. And if anyone wants to openly discuss their triggers during Session Zero, that is welcome as well but not required. At any point of the game, anyone can message me or the table for any content that they wish to throw out and/or change on the fly.
