About the adventure

Who doesn't like a arctic themed adventure?! Icewind Dale is in the far north of the sword coast on the other side of the Spine of the World, a massive mountain chain. Life up there has always been hard, but for the last Five years it was been much much harder. Five years ago Auril, The Frostmaiden launched a curse upon this land: "Never again will be sunlight, warm and safety, embrace the everlasting winter!" So for Five years icewind dale face a never ending winter, the lakes are all frozen, the folk of the Ten-Towns who exist there live in hunger and cold. Only a group of fearless adventures may find a way to save this place!

About me

My name is Thomaz, i'm from Brazil and DMing is my full time job! The first time i played D&D was back when i had 12, it was 3.5e. I had no ideia what i was doing but i felt in love with this game. My favorite edition by far is 5e, its so easy to learn! I have a large selection of campaigns i can DM for any party, going from light-hearted to dark fantasy. If i dont know it yet i can quickly get a it ready if the party wants! I also have a degree in languages (Portuguese-English), back in the day my goal was to teach native English speakers to learn Portuguese. I don't plain to be a tutor anymore, but i think i can still have that goal with D&D, helping my players learning while they play! My main goal is show the amazing world of RPG and help them to learm it! I have a game every single day of the week, morning and evening!

Character creation

Creating your character

I strongly encourage the player to create the own character, but if them don't have the time for it i will have many character sheets created in advance. The rules for character creation are simple: Point buy 27 points, all official books materials allowed (except for background that give extra feats) and no homebrew but perhaps some cool UA if the player really wants. For all the things in the game we will use foundry, to roll dice, combat on the grid, etc. But all the chat will be managed on Discord.

The current party

This is the second campaign for most of the players in the party, we did a whole 86 sessions of Curse of Strahd before starting this one! This time we decided to go to a slow paced campaign, and we come up with a very different concept! We are pretty much playing 3 campaigns in one! As each player have 3 characters and we have 3 different parties! We whop from party to party after a few weeks so we can take the game slowly and enjoy the ride as we also create a rich narrative with a lot of role-play! The goal of this campaign is to be long and as we finish the Icewindale party we will continue it until level 20 by playing eve of ruin with the same characters! We are looking for players that really love to role-play and which we can be friends with! If you want a different game, you are welcome to join! Right now everyone is level 6!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need to create a free account on The forge. Them join the foundryVTT to be able to play. All the links will provided after you join the campaign. Have at least a good mic, webcam is only necessary if you feel comfortable using it. The players don't need to be D&D rulers experts but i strongly encourage them to learn about the own class.

What Thomaz Eblen brings to the table

Be a Dungeon Master is my full time job, i take it really seriously. I have more than 10 years of experience been a DM, and for this adventure alone i had more than 10 groups playing it. We will be playing on FoundryVTT which by itself is already very good, we have animated spells and dice.

Homebrew rules

I tend to add more homebrews as the game go, to better quality of life of my players

Safety

How Thomaz Eblen creates a safe table

This campaign might stay low level for a very long time, tho it will go all the way to 20 eventually, it should take about 2 years of game weekly to finish it, give or take! This adventure is a sandbox with ALOT of quests and none are irrelevant for the major narrative, even the smaller ones. If the party complete all the content in this module you can expect to be 14th level on the last fight. I have DM this plenty of times, so i have made many changes on the base adventure to make it even a more enjoyable player experience. No PVP allowed!
