About the adventure

Icewind Dale, the frigid north of the world, has become more frigid still in recent years- the summer growing shorter and shorter, until now -at last- it has not come at all. Something is wrong with Auril, goddess of winter, and you- perhaps visitor, perhaps resident- are caught up in the middle of this, as chaos spreads, and the secrets of this land begin to be lost forever, beneath the ice... ----------------------------------------------------- This campaign is all about isolation and mystery. In the earlygame, the focus is on the towns of ❄️Icewind Dale❄️; fearful and alone, as threats grow both within and without. Later, it shifts to matters ancient, divine, and mysterous: of 🪼horrors eldritch🪼, worlds forgotten, and the nature of gods and man Spiraling from survival and exploration into eldritch horror and epic adventure, this homebrew take on Rime of the Frostmaiden forces you to race against the oncoming winter to save both Icewind Dale and your sanity, before it's too late...

About me

🏳️‍🌈Queer 🎭Voice Actor 🚀Physicist. ----------------------------------------------------- My table is welcome to all, but I especially enjoy DMing for players who have normally felt excluded from gaming spaces because of their identity. ----------------------------------------------------- Whoever you are, so as long as there's respect to go around, I'm sure we'll have a great time!

Ellery is a great DM! They’re very patient with their players, wonderful at setting scenery, and are never afraid to get a bit silly and fun with our party shenanigans. The party I play with are very RP forward and Ellery is Always willing to indulge our ceaseless questions. Great for queer and beginner players looking for a well rounded game experience!

Very fun games. Lots of fun role play and constantly helping to make the character more exciting to play and add more depth to them. Always has music and art and what not ready. Very in depth npcs and characters.

Very great ability to set the scenes verbally and professional use of Roll20. The plot and sessions are well thought out and yet amendable to my party's, let's say, "chaotic" approach. I'm familiar with this module and the significant changes to parts of the source material while maintaining the gothic horror elements are much welcomed and appreciated. Open to the rule of cool ideas with loads of badass and memorable moments.

This is an amazing GM, a hardworker, fun loving leader who is both insightful and creative. Music is always on point, the story is amazing and above all, is always willing to take into consideration the players and their creative ideas.

Ellery has a knack for allowing players to act freely and feel heroic during combat and roleplay, making the experience incredibly immersive.

Ellery has a solid grasp on the sandbox campaign they're running with interesting descriptions of locations and well-voiced NPCs, allows for cool player shenanigans when it's appropriate, but is also willing to abide by the rules when it matters.

Character creation
Creating your character

The free session zero will cover everything about character creation, although eager players are welcome to get a head start! ----------------------------------------------------- ⚔️ Campaign starts at level 3 📖 All official WotC races, classes, and backgrounds are allowed 💪 A generous custom array for ability scores. 🛡️Starting equipment from main class and background 👍Multiclassing encouraged 🪶Most homebrew allowed, as long as you clear it with me first! ----------------------------------------------------- This campaign is NEW PLAYER friendly, and I offer simple pre-generated characters for anyone overwhelmed by character creation.

The current party

This game meets every Sunday! We're a couple of sessions in, but this campaign is designed with drop-in/drop-out in mind, so new players should be able to get right into things! ----------------------- The current party: 🔹 Goliath Cleric 🔹 Half-orc Fighter 🔹 Shadar-Kai Bard 🔹 Drow Wizard How will you complete the group?

Homebrew rules

House rules will be covered during session zero, but the following are the big ones: • Rule of Cool • If an attack roll beats the target's AC by 10 or more, it counts as an artificial critical. • Negative Hit points Exist, they work how you think they'd work • Standing up from prone triggers an attack of opportunity • Spells of level 2 or lower don’t count against the ‘one spell slot spell per turn’ rule

Safety
How Ellery/Scriblatives creates a safe table

Although Icewind dale will have its fair share of goofy moments and zany characters, a central part of its theming is things like eldritch horror and difficult moral choices. Because of this, a crucial part of the session zero process will be discussing triggers and content warnings to ensure everyone is as comfortable as possible! I will also regularly check in, to make sure everyone is having as much fun as possible!
