About the adventure

Embark on an epic adventure in the forgotten land of Thylea, that blends high fantasy with the trappings of ancient history. A land of walking gods, binding oaths, and powerful curses. If you want your character to feel like heroes of myth and legend - Hercules, Jason, and handful of others, then this is the adventure for you. 🧭 Complete Great Labors across the land of Thylea. ⚖ Meet, interact with, and fight against the various gods of the world. 🔮 Be the subjects of and ancient prophecy. 👑 Give your character an Epic Destiny that links them to the world and cements their heroic journey. Be an Amazon, a Demigod, a Dragonslayer, or your choice of several more. 📜 Have a character in mind? The adventure has support for Outlanders and characters from Other Worlds! ⌛ Long term adventure - levels 3-15 and potentially beyond. 🎲 Homebrew mechanics to increase player fun and character depth. Spell points, bonus action healing potions, and much more. Enjoy unparalleled character creation through a sprawling array of talent trees that replace feats, and level-based bonus talents so you don't have to sacrifice stats. 🍻 Very Homebrew friendly! Got an unofficial race, class, or subclass you've been dying to play? Ask about it! DM is willing to go over homebrew and balance if needed. 🎮 Media Inspiration - Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Genshin Impact, Elden Ring

About me

I got my TTRPG start with D&D 5e but I've been an avid writer and roleplayer for many years besides. I'm hoping to provide an inclusive game where we can bend and stretch the rules in a way that's still cohesive and fun for everyone involved. I run active and engaging games in a custom campaign setting and I'm always willing to try to work with ideas players might have for character creation. I tend to use homebrew systems and mechanics in my games and due to that I will not recommend my games to brand new players. Otherwise, if you're looking for a fun game of D&D in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and don't mind a bit of homebrew, then I'm probably your guy.

Character creation

Creating your character

Once applications are accepted you'll be given an invite link to a discord server that will have resources for you to get started making your character. Session 0 will involve going over rules and the bulk of character creation once those rules are explained, but the DM will be available to answer questions and help with character creation before session 0 if you want to read through the rules and start making a character before session 0. If there are is any homebrew content that you'd like to use, this would be the time to inform the DM. There will be a unique method of stat generation that involves selecting stats on a grid. This method will allow everyone in the party to get a good mix of randomized stats. Character Sheets will be primarily made entirely in Foundry.

The current party

Once you sign up you will be given a link to a Discord server where you can start building your character. DM is also available for questions regarding the game throughout the week. Racial Rules: Every character race/species can replace their ability score increases with a +2, +1, +1 to ability scores of their choice, except for Variant Human and Custom Lineage. Everyone gets a free feat* at level one Background Rules: Every character gets a free feat* related to their background. (*Feats are optionally replaced by Talent Trees but the mechanical benefit is essentially the same.)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players need to have a microphone, as well as a discord and a foundry forge account. 5e published content will be provided to the players by the DM so the only other thing you need is a willingness to learn a few changes to the rules.

What Ito brings to the table

I'll be bringing maps and tokens via roll20, music via a discord bot that you will have prior waring to long before it starts playing any music, and access to all of the currently published 5th edition material for you to access as well as a veritable hoard of homebrew.

Safety

How Ito creates a safe table

Players can expect a fairly relaxed game environment and an inclusive space to explore different character concepts. There are homebrew rules for downtime - such as magical item crafting and training to learn new skills and abilities. There are also additional customization options separate from class and race. Want to be a Paladin with arcane abilities? Or a Ranger with Psionics? Just about everything's open but all optional. The game rewards system mastery and your willingness to do a bit of reading but doesn't punish players who don't want to go down a complex character customization rabbit hole. The DM is an avid user of the rule of Cool and wants to make sure everyone's boundaries are respected. There are optional sandboxing and hexcrawling elements but the main focus of the game is flexible.
