About the adventure

Band together with your teammates and stop them at all costs! Using the exciting Essence20 Roleplaying System, you'll create a brand-new teenager with attitude! Three years after Zeo Crystal is discovered on Earth's Moon and a rush to harness its power began, life on the Luna Academy has started to settle: prospects have been gathered from around the world to see who has what it takes to become the first to tap into the power of the Zeo Crystal. Unbeknownst to the future Rangers, forces from beyond the solar system have awoken as well and seek to use the Zeo Crystal to power their evil war legions! Will Luna Academy's students be able to access the powers of the Zeo Crystal before these evil space aliens come to claim it? And even if they do, can they band together to stop the invaders?!

A writer, poet, and anthropologist, I love to introduce new players to the fantastical worlds I grew up in and love even more building new worlds with players of all experience levels (including no experience!) DMing is a passion of mine, something I am always striving to improve at: the physical world around me is littered with sourcebooks, notebooks, guides, print-outs, Post-Its, dice, half-painted miniatures, and other paraphernalia related to this incredible hobby. All of my games are LGBTQ+ friendly, and my tables are safe spaces where everyone is welcome, so long as they believe that everyone is welcome.

Creating your character
Characters will be created at (or before) session 0, and a comprehensive Session 0 will be performed, including theming concepts and costume designs. Characters will start off at Level 0, without a chosen Role or associated Perks applied. By the end of that initial scenario, all player characters will have their Power Rangers Role and we will begin our Luna Academy adventures! Players joining after Session 0 will match level with the rest of the team. I will work with players over SPG and/or Discord leading up to their first session to build their characters and create power sets and weapons for them.
The campaign currently features 🪙 Gold, 🩶 Graphite, 🟢 Green, and 🍎 Red Spectrums! All Power Ranger Spectrum Roles are allowed!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players would be advised to have a mic available for use with Role, but text chat accommodations are allowed. A free Role account will be necessary (https://app.playrole.com/), as will a free Discord account (https://www.discord.com/) Having some knowledge of Essence20 or other d20-based games will help the players but is not necessary.
What Gerald brings to the table
I bring pre-made adventures from Renegade Game Studio and will eventually transition into bespoke adventures created specifically for the group; some will be based off of episodes of the Power Rangers TV shows, while others will be completely original, featuring original characters and situations. I also bring just... terrible impressions and character voices. Just the worst. 😆 Additionally, I bring with me a gaming community full of great weirdos. My Discord channel is full of fun people who love gaming in all its forms and fun conversations take place daily. We also run Community Events every month to bring new experiences to the table!

How Gerald creates a safe table
This game contains fantasy violence. Characters are "defeated", but no death occurs. Content warnings are non-comprehensive, due to the nature of a bunch of people coming together to hang out together while playing a game. If something comes up that makes you uncomfortable, there are many ways you can make that known, including X-Cards and Lines & Veils. You will never be expected or pressed to share your trauma history with anyone else at the table; simply saying "X this" is enough to change direction of the session.
