About the adventure
Farming is an honest living, but after hearing strangers in the tavern telling tales of fantastic beasts and treasure hoards piled with gold, jewels, and fantastic weapons and armors, this life pales in comparison to what you could seize for yourself as an adventurer! You have spent some time in the levees, so you know something of warfare, and are skilled enough with a bow to bring down the largest buck the town has seen one season, so why not? These passing adventurers were never clear as to exactly where this treasure is to be found, but after listening to enough of the stories these infrequent travelers boast of, you think you have figured out where to start. After packing a bag and selecting a nice spear to carry as a walking staff, you head west. Every journey begins with the first step. Let's go old school with an AD&D The Keep on the Borderlands. Lots of combat, evading traps and monsters, looting treasure hoards, and some roleplay.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Greetings! I have been a gamer since 1980 when a friend introduced me to "High Fantasy" by Jeffrey Dillow, which led to playing a mixture of D&D versions and other games. I had some great DMs early on to learn from. We tried a lot of different games, and this translated to my family as well, playing with my brothers and sisters and sometimes parents. While I have had a gap here or there in playing games over the years, I've earned a lot of experience with playing and running games for family and friends, and want to branch out to make new friends as well. Hosting games as a paid GM is a natural extension of that. I like the classic dungeoncrawl type of game the most, and this is what I also like to run.

Creating your character
Pre-generated characters will be offered to choose from. I take my influences from Raymond Feist, Dennis McKiernan, and, of course, JRR Tolkien, with some Fritz Leiber, Fred Saberhagen, and Robert E. Howard thrown in.
This Adventuring Crew is in search of more adventurers to join the conquest of original TSR Dungeons and Dragons and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons modules. Gold and Glory to be had! High risk means high reward! Always plenty of room for more players! Too much gold for just these few characters to carry! Hop on and play in an early edition AD&D campaign. Maybe for nostalgia, maybe because you haven't played this version. It's the players who decide which modules to explore next, not the DM.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You need a Discord account, and at least a microphone (camera optional.) Also, the VTT we will be using is Fantasy Grounds Unity, so you will need a copy of the client (free download) and an account (also free.) No need to buy anything. Don't know the rules? It's OK, we'll discover them together.
What George brings to the table
As a longtime player and GM, I bring all of those experiences to the table to pass on my excitement for the game to the players. I do like storytelling, but as this campaign will take place mainly underground, there won't be a lot of it. The story telling will be your characters bragging in the tavern at the end of the day.

How George creates a safe table
Players can expect lots of danger, combat, and traps. Mostly fighting and evading, but some roleplaying opportunities. This, and the Homebrew will be discussed in Session 0 to decide if this is right for you. Characters will be pre-generated, but players are expected to take that role and make it your own, much like an actor in a movie.
