About the adventure

As you weave through the winding trails of the ancient Appalachian Mountains, your journey brings you to the isolated mining town of Blackridge. Whispers of a haunting folktale reach your ears—the tale of three sisters, spectral harbingers whose appearance signals the onset of darkness and doom. What was once dismissed as a cautionary yarn now manifests as a palpable reality. As you explore the town, mysterious figures, the three sisters from the ancient tale, materialize in the shadows. Their presence is subtle, causing unease among the townsfolk. Dark events unfold in the wake of your arrival, and rumors circulate about a connection between your party and the sisters. The townsfolk are divided in their perception of your group. Some view you as the town's potential salvation, outsiders with the strength and resolve needed to combat the impending darkness. Others, however, harbor suspicions that your arrival is the very cause of the malevolent forces now stirring beneath the mountains. The once-quiet mining town now sits on the razor's edge, where the lines between savior and catalyst blur, and the fate of Blackridge hinges on the choices you make in the face of mounting uncertainty.

About me

Hi, I'm Tom. I came here to start hosting games with the encouragement of my players in my ongoing campaigns. With them, I've learned so much about collaborative storytelling and the amazing things that it can do. They've all pushed me to be the best I can be and I'd like to keep pushing and go further. What I like to do in my games is make sure that I include the players in the world-building experience as much as possible. I like to create bonds between the PCs and the world that they inhabit. I like building a unique experience with my players and telling the most interesting story possible. If these are things that you enjoy, I may be the right fit for you! Feel free to message me and ask questions.

Character creation

Creating your character

We will take care of character creation together in session zero. I will do my best to explain how the system works and will provide all the materials that you will need to create characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

A mic is really the main thing that you will need. If you have a camera, that's a plus but it's not required. Discord will be used for communication outside of the game and in between sessions. Sessions will be held on Zoom and be recorded for everyone to listen back to if they choose to. Questportal will be the VTT used for visuals and sound.

What That Beard Guy brings to the table

I will provide the rulebook for the game as well as all maps, visuals, and background music. There will be a Discord server for discussion outside of the games. We will be using the VTT Questportal, which is free to join. I try my best to only include combat when it is necessary. While it can be fun, this system leans into roleplaying, which is what I tend to focus on. I'm also a Rule of Cool GM, if you have an idea, just ask.

How That Beard Guy creates a safe table

A digital consent checklist will be distributed in Session 0 as well as an open discussion about what everyone is looking to get out of the game. It will also include character creation.
