About the adventure

"Those big folk have always been jealous of our celebrations--so much so that they've gone and stole our supplies! Can't have no Yule without Yule ale!" Yuletide draws near for the Hobbits in Hobbiton, but not all is well. A special order of supplies from Buckland haven't arrived yet, and 1 Yule is only a day away! Someone, or a group of someones, will have to go see what happened and hopefully retrieve that essential cart. --- This is a cozy holiday adventure using The One Ring 2ed Starter Set rules. Choose between six pre-generated, lore-friendly Hobbit characters or make your own and prepare for a lovely game of whimsy and comfort. New players to the system, new players to TTRPGs in general, and new fans of Tolkien are all very welcome. Seasoned players/fans should also find this adventure quite charming as well.

I had a lot of fun with Anduriel's TOR Yule one shot. As my first time with the system and not being used to foundry, he was very helpful. I absolutely loved getting involved in a snowball fight and blaming it on the ranger.

Anduriel makes an enthralling adventure. The environment is fun and light hearted. Great for learning the rules to a game while keeping the quality of the story telling high. The pacing is excellent, they keep you in the game when you want to be immersed and then gently pull you out to explain how different phases and actions work. Our inexperienced group made all kinds of wacky decisions and they crafted wonderful narrative around it. Every character was charming, memorable and had a terrific voice.

Andi is very familiar with the gaming rules and platform, if they don’t know the answer off the top of their head they know exactly where to look! Extremely helpful to beginners and makes the game easy to get into and very fun.

I love how immersive Andi is; the music, atmosphere, storytelling, and descriptions of all the characters were so great! I will absolutely be employing his skills for our next campaign. If you enjoy a wildly hilarious GM with a lightning-fast wit for when your party goes off the rails, Anduriel is the choice for you :D

Andy was a treat to have as DM for my first game ever. They were amazing in getting me up to speed with the rules of the game. Had a bunch of patience for dumb questions. The story and details they wove for the game were top notch, if you closed the eyes you could perfectly imagine what was happening. Also the voices and ambient they setup was perfect for our little adventure. Highly highly recommended for a game sesssion.

Character creation
Creating your character

I have six pregenerated hobbit characters for players to choose from. These character sheets are already waiting in Foundry VTT for you. It would be helpful for players to take a look the day before the game session, if possible, to choose a character. Regardless, we will spend the first ten minutes or so of the game session to choose characters. Each of the hobbits provided are already characters that exist in the lore of Middle Earth. They include: Drogo Baggins, Esmeralda Took, Lobelia Bracegirdle, Paladin Took II, Primula Brandybuck, and Rorimac Brandybuck. If any of these characters excite you, feel free to message me with your preference. If you have no idea who these characters are, that is okay too! Do not feel pressured to play these characters "correctly"; make them your own.

The current party

This oneshot will take place several times during the month of December. Each session is the same oneshot, so players should only plan to attend one date.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

- A free Discord account is required for voice chat and additional communication - Join my Discord channel and read the Rules and Safety channel: https://discord.gg/9sjuXwKP - A working microphone is required. A working video camera is recommended for more immersive roleplay but not required - A Foundry link will be provided the day before the session. Foundry is free for players and works in-browser

How Anduriel creates a safe table

For a light-hearted, cozy oneshot like this, we'll jump right into the game once we establish which character everyone will be playing. Before or during game, please feel free to private message me any themes, triggers, questions or anything else you may want me to know to avoid or take into consideration. Know that if you PM me during the game, I might not see it immediately, but I will do my best to respond quickly. I also always employ the Open Door policy and will regularly check in for breaks.
