About the adventure
NEW CAMPAIGN! BEGINNER FRIENDLY! OPEN AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT! USING FOUNDRY VTT! The Kingmaker Adventure Path is a full-length campaign that chronicles the rise of a new nation—a kingdom built and ruled by your player characters! Face off against bands of bloodthirsty bandits, deadly and dangerous monsters, and mysterious menaces from other realities as you fight to claim the Stolen Lands as your own. Will you rule with justice and mercy, or will you become the very monsters you fought to oppose? In the Kingmaker Adventure Path, the destiny of the world’s newest nation is yours to decide! Before we begin, we'll talk about the kind of game you want. Are you looking for deep intrigue and political maneuvering, or does the thought of role-playing diplomatic encounters between nations bore you? Either end of that spectrum and anywhere in-between is possible! I'll adjust the campaign to put the focus where you want it. We can go through the minutiae of placing buildings in a city if that interests you, or we can just wave our hands and narrate it instead. The choice is yours. But no matter what, we'll have a blast!

About me
In addition to being a GM, I am a professional RPG author and designer. I've written adventures, rules, and creatures for over twenty products in the Pathfinder and Starfinder product lines. Creating your character
We will have a session 0 in which we talk broadly about the campaign and the kinds of characters we are thinking of playing. After that, players can either create 3rd-level Pathfinder Second Edition characters themselves or ask me to create a character for them. If you want me to make a character for you, please contact me at least 3 days beforehand. If you are making a character or bringing an existing one, send it to me at least 24 hours ahead of time.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
No need for any RPG experience--I'll teach you everything you need to know to play the game! Microphone required, webcam preferred but optional. Pathbuilder app is a great tool for building characters if you're making your own. You'll need a Forge account: https://forge-vtt.com/account/signup We'll use Discord for voice and video, so you'll need a Discord account as well. Characters will be kept on Foundry (hosted by Forge). Kingdom tracking will be done via Foundry.

How Brian creates a safe table
This adventure is about exploring, fighting monsters, founding a nation, and role-play. There are many opportunities to resolve conflicts without violence. The game is set in Golarion, the default setting of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. It takes place in the lawless River Kingdoms, beginning in the Stolen Lands. No nation has ever lasted very long there: will yours be the first? We will use the X, N, and O card system of safety tools. There will likely be a 5-10 minute break partway through the session as well.
